Upgrade ideas!

New here on the forums...thought I would pop in to share some ideas I have and see what people think.

1. Print recovery mode. Basically use the bed level sensor to probe the print to determine where it left off. Various options could branch from there...resume the print, or save unprinted portion to be printed later then glued together.

2. XL/Core one: Alternate extruder upgrade...the idea here is for there to be multiple extruders that have different functions. For example, an extruder that can pivot to print steep angles a normal extruder cannot. So not only would you have an extruder for each filiment, you could also mix up the types of extruders as well without losing functionality.

3. Core one and MK4s streamlined MMU3: Lets face it...changing filaments is a pain between the buffer and getting the filament to path correctly into the MMU3. Not only that but the use of filament rollers takes up a TON of space. We need a compact, easier to use way to changing out filament. Ideally something officially supported too. Ideally, it should function as seamlessly as feeding the filament was before the MMU3 upgrade. For the Core one, this should fit into or on the box and be compact if possible.

4. Ok this one may be far fetched but hear me out: A budget printer format that is designed to use left over parts from past upgrades. For example - a conversion kit for the original prusa enclosure that converts it into a printer. Obviously you would not be able to print everything and would have to buy some parts such as PCB and LCD screens, but it would make for an interesting way to make use of spare parts....ideally taking a modular focus on parts. This would be a cool way for prusa to try experimental upgrade ideas, encouraging community involvement by hosting contests with goals to continue development.

5. Adaptive supports: Sometimes you have prints that work better with snug and others organic...but what if you didn't have to pick between them? This type of support would morph according to the needs of the print. For example it could start out as snug support at the base but as it goes higher, it would shift over the organic tree supports.

Would love to hear your thoughts on these ideas. 🙂
