Time travel?
Did the forum contents just get reset to the state of 20 hours ago? It seems that all more recent posts have disappeared.
What's up? Has this happened before?
RE: Time travel?
This is a strange one... I just noticed that I can see those missing posts (anything posted between 20 hours ago and now) if I visit the forum while being logged out. But as soon as I log in, posts in that time window become invisible to me.
RE: Time travel?
Caching problem probably.
I frequently don't see the latests posts unless I am logged in, even if I am going to them from a notification
RE: Time travel?
It seems like the Prusa servers maintain and deliver two separate copies of the forum: one for registered, logged-in users and one for guests. The two versions are now in sync again -- unfortunately in the way that posts made in that 20-hour time window have disappeared for everyone. New posts (made after thje data loss) do show up, both for logged-in users and for guests.
RE: Time travel?
I also replied to a thread last evening, and as of now (in the morning) that reply isn't there. 🤷♂️

RE: Time travel?
You're not alone. I've been seeing this frequently in my visits here. I made two posts yesterday and one of them is completely gone. I've fully reloaded this site from the server several times and it doesn't appear. It would seem that the neglect of these boards continues.

RE: Time travel?
Yes, it's a bit disappointing. I was at least hoping to see some update and explanation from an admin or moderator. (Had reported my own post to make sure they see it.)

Yep, happens all the time. I really wish at one point they'd hire a summer student to migrate the forum software to something more robust. And heaven forbid, maybe let us even upload 3mf files directly, so we don't have to tell people all. the. time that they need to be compressed or the forum software will just ignore them.

I don't know - but what it seems to tell the browser to cache pages, pressing F5 often brings later version - there are workarounds if you open dev tools and set appropriate option
It never seems to maintain the log in - but when I go to log in it never offers me a log in dialog, but instead I'm logged in straight away

It seems that the present forum software is homebrew -- maybe not the best choice, given that various open-source and commercial alterntives are available. But I guess Prusa has some special requirements, like using the same accounts for the forum and their other sites (online store, Printables etc.), which are not easily met by third party software.
RE: Time travel?
It gets worse if you have TWO prusa accounts, like I do…. When the forum software screwed up my former account @fuchsr and it had to be migrated to my new @FoxRun3D account (which literally took the good folks at Prusa weeks), I ended up with this account here but also a different one for shop.prusa3d.com with my order history etc. As a result, the "auto login" that skips the actual login screen keeps screwing me, I routinely get logged in here with my shop account — or logged in to the Prusa shop with my forum account ☹️ As you can probably tell, I'm not a fan of this weird forum software.

RE: Time travel?
The same thing happened to me. Yesterday I posted two rather important posts, one of them was answering @luke2123 problems, and this morning they were gone. What does Joan Tabb (@joantabb) have to say about it as a moderator?

I'm pretty sure it happened to everyone who posted in the timespan between approx. 34 hours ago and 14 hours ago. Those posts are gone.
$#!t happens. But in any other forum I have visited, there would be an update with an explanation, maybe even an apology from the admins or moderators. It's disappointing that we just get silence here. I even reported my own post this morning (the original post above) to make sure they are aware.

You may not have noticed it, which is why I reported it. Can you see any posts, anywhere on this forum which were made between 15:00 CET, Feb 11th and 9:00 CET, Feb 12th?
RE: Time travel?
No I haven't found any posts in that period since you mentioned the issue.
I have passed this on to Prusa for the Admins to have a look
regards Joan

RE: Time travel?
I'll add that my posts were lost too.
RE: Time travel?
I did too, my post completely disappeared ( https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/original-prusa-xl-tool-changer-general-discussion-announcements-and-releases/force-location-to-clean-nozzle/?language=en) though it seems at one point to have been able to be seen by logged in and external users. Or at least it appeared as one of the posts on the Community tab of prusa3d.com.
