Riffles / Combs in surface
The prints always starts with a nice first layer, but the layers above it have the riffles of death. The nozzle bumps over them and lets the whole printer vibrate.
If I reduce the flow by a lot (70 to 80), I can barely make it go through these first layers. After that (with flow on 100 again) the print qualitiy steadily improves until it's up to a point where you couldn't tell that there were severe problems bevore.
Calibration of the printer went according to Teaching Tech's Calibration Page: https://teachingtechyt.github.io/calibration.html
So there shouldn't be major problems with that. The extruder steps and the flow rate are theoretically spot on, so I really have run out of ideas.
Which printer do you have? Is there no ready made config file to save you from going through that rigmarole?
And what filament are you printing? Is the diameter consistent?

Thanks for your reply
I've got an Sidewinder X1. I know this is a Prusa Forum, but I think this is a problem that can occour universally and I haven't found any suitable posts (or got usable answers) in other forums, so I thought that maybe passioned people at Prusa could help me.
I'm not able to verify the diameter of my filament as may calipers only go down to 0.05mm, but it's quality filament with really good reviews. So I don't think thats where the problem lies.
I don't know what you meant with ready made configs. Do you meant other discussions about a similar issue?
RE: Riffles / Combs in surface
there is an artillery sidewinder configuration in the "Configuration Wizard"
are you using it with prusa slicer?
I try to make safe suggestions,You should understand the context and ensure you are happy that they are safe before attempting to apply my suggestions, what you do, is YOUR responsibility. Location Halifax UK
RE: Riffles / Combs in surface
I'm using this configuration in Prusaslicer already. But I also don't know how this would have been able to solve my problems.
The configurations can't change anything too important, so...
So what was the original problem when printing with the unaltered config file? What caused you to try that calibration system?

Thanks for all your support. My printer works again. Based on your suggestion I tried an updated version of the SWX1 config and newly leveled the bed.
I think in the end it was a mix of both things, that made it work again. Especially funny since I was so convinced that the bed was levelled correctly.
Awesome community, have a nice day
