Recycling filament?

Hello awesome community!  Now that we are massively in love with our Prusa MK3S and printing lots of cool things, we are hoping to offset the all negative plastics we are putting into the world.  Does anyone know if we can send our Prusament to be recycled by Prusa?  Or doesn't anyone know if the recycled filaments you can buy out there work well with the Prusa printers?

Thanks!

RE: Recycling filament?

In the US, RePLAy3D recyxles PLA as well as selling recycled filament. GreenGate 3D sells recycled PETG. Most recycling programs are local. Most recycling programs can't accept PLA sadly.

Thank you bobstro!  In your experience, does the recycled filament have the same good tolerances as the "Prusament" filament and work well in the Prusa printers?

Thanks again -

The RePLAy 3D recycled PLA works fine, but is definitely prone to fine stringing. I'm working on a filament profile for it. As long as you're OK with black, it's suitable for test prints and larger objects.

I've only done a bit of testing with GreenGate 3D recycled PETG. So far, it works like every other PETG I've used and is available in a nice range of colors.

Neither has the tolerances or spool consistency of Prusament. Then again, few brands do.
