Recycling failed print: I would like your feedback to see if my project is viable

Hello everyone,

In Switzerland I haven't found a single solution to recycle my failed prints. The only plastic we can recycle is PET, and even then it's only if it comes from bottles used for drinks. Recently I have seen the https://recyclingfabrik.com/ on a CNC Kitchen video, but this still doesn't answer my needs, because for non-German customers you need to send 7 Kg for them to offer shipping and then you only get some points that allow you to have a better price on their filaments.

I've been thinking of a concept to allow people to recycle their own filament and would like to have a little feedback from the community to see if the concept is viable. The idea is to allow users to send their failed prints and empty spools for them to be grinded, dried and repurposed as a new filament and the spool being sent back. For this to work I would like to know from all of you :

  • how much would you be ready to pay for this kind of service? Would it be more something like 80% of the price of an original spool or closer to 50%? The quality of the filament would be close to the quality of the filament used in the failed prints.
  • how much failed prints (in kilograms) would you be ready to keep at home before sending them for a new spool to be done?

Thank you for all your inputs!
