PrusaSlicer 2.4

I’m using PrusaSlicer 2.4. So far I love it with one exception. It crashes when I try to slice large objects. It gives me some error regarding nvidia which I believe is the graphics card on my laptop. Has anyone else experienced this problem? And does anyone know if an update is coming that should fix this issue?

RE: PrusaSlicer 2.4

Have you checked to see if Nvidia has an update for the driver?  Windows does not always install the most recent update.

I have Nvidia in both my laptop and desktop and no problems.

RE: PrusaSlicer 2.4

2.4.0 slicer crashes immediately on start. I get the splash screen, then a dialog box comes up "Prusa Slicer has stopped working" with the close program button. This is Win10. Windows just installed an update yesterday "2022-KB5008876 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 10, version 20H2, Windows Server, version 20H2, Windows 10 Version 21H1, and Windows 10 Version 21H2"

Any hints on how to troubleshoot this?

RE:

I would uninstall PS, then redownload the latest version (64 bit?) and reinstall.  No promises, just my suggestion.  Then, download the SpaceX GridFin on the splash screen 😉

RE:

Based on your initial description of the problem - As I said, Windows does not always install the latest NVidia driver. In some cases the laptop manufacture has chosen to alter a standard driver and then not update it. If that is case, you may be out of luck. In other cases, for reasons unknown to me, Windows is an update or two behind NVidia. If that is the case, this link will help: nvidia downloads

There is an auto update feature that requires the installation of some software. Or, you can go the manual route if you know which model of card you have.

Option two would be to completely uninstall the slicer including all the initialization and configuration files and then doing a clean install.
