RE: Prusa USS Drybox

I'm giving these a hard pass and will go with an INBXX solution once the INDX arrives. Also working on a bracket for my Polymaker boxes and will start with that first. Struggling to scale it down so it's printable on a Core One. Core One L and Bambu are no problem.

I had not seen the INBXX. The only reason I wouldn't be able to do them is even at over 6' (188cm) tall, not sure with my XL up on a counter I could reach the XL up that high (certainly couldn't reach into the XL to IPA the bed or anything. Although the floor standing one is kinda cool.

That's the one I plan to go for.

I have not tried these yet but am likely to soon:

I'm using these adaptors: https://www.printables.com/model/1686664-uss-drybox-sleeve-bearing/

As simple as it gets. Work perfectly for Overture., Polymaker, Protopasta, etc.

I applaud 3rd party solutions but for the price, Prusa should include these adapters with the box.

What they should have done is to design it so that NO adaptors would be needed. Just a few mm more space and there wouldn't be any drag.

All in all I'm underwhelmed with the boxes. I bought two and certainly won't buy more. Another perplexing issue is that there's no way to  rewind filament back onto the spool on unloading unless you open one of the small compartments on the side.  And you can't read the humidity while the dry box is mounted. Etc etc.

But doesn’t solve the thickness issue, which is tougher to solve than the center hub issue…

I notice that there's still a six week lead time if you want to order one now.  It makes me wonder whether they are tweaking the design and will start shipping updated ones.  I wouldn't mind ordering a few more but I'm going to wait until it's no longer showing any lead time, just in case they are changing the design to better deal with the compatibility and usability issues discussed here.
