Will the 2x Prusament spool voucher return?

The Prusament ASA option is also gone from the available list of rewards - why?

Have a look at my models on Printables.com 😉

Sorry I was a bit careless with my screen shot.   The full post reads:

Due to low stock of nearly all Prusament materials & colors, we have temporarily disabled the vouchers for 2x and 3x Prusament spool, plus the ASA voucher from the Printables reward system. We'll bring them back, once Prusament manufacturing catches up a bit with the demand.

to learn more about Prusa Badges and Rewards! Are there different tiers? What activities earn badges? How do rewards enhance the user experience? Let's dive in and uncover the benefits of this incentivized system for Prusa enthusiasts.

I suggest grabbing the hot end of the extruder when it's set to 200C and hold it until you smell bacon cooking. That would be more beneficial than this "reward" program.

Like - how to get rid of the entire system?

Are there different tiers?

Yes:  Gullibe newbie, Filament wasting idiot, Spammer of a million virtually identical worthless prints for upload points and several even lower grades.

What activities earn badges?

Printing badges.

How do rewards enhance the user experience?

They don't.  They encourage abusers to pollute the database making it even harder to find designs worth downoading and reinforcing the popular misconception that 3D printing is all about wasting plastic on trinkets.

As a result of this incentivisation many of us have given up uploading designs.  It can take months, even years, to fully test and refine a design, it then takes days, perhaps weeks to write, user test and refine the build instructions.  Uploading takes a few minutes then in half an hour the work is buried too deep for any but the most obsessive searcher to find it.

The only use, now, for Printables is as a repository if you wish to link outsiders to your work without having to set-up the download.

Cheerio,

About spammers, yesterday I was looking for some models tagged as gridfinity and noticed quite a lot of prints totally unrelated to gridfinity. After checking I noticed they belong to the same person, checking one model revealed that the model had huge amount of random tags added just to increase search results...

How this should be handled, just report the models or the user?

See my GitHub and printables.com for some 3d stuff that you may like.

By all means report both, better though would be to request deletion of everything uploaded since mid December 2021.

Hi everyone, recently I payd attention at the badges available for download, and since I recently got a multicolor 3D printer, I thought of printing my own. But some time ago, I think I clicked one and then must have lost or thrown it away,  not knowing they could only be downloaded once. Is there a way to re-download the one I lost? Also, it seems that Professional designer and Professional Maker are the same thing as I think one overwrote the other. So I actually I just have one of my three main badges.

One of my badges that I can't download

They can be downloaded as often as you like, but not every level has a badge...
For designer there is only a level 5 badge. You can access the level 5 model by clicking on "Scarica badge 3D".

Thanks for your reply, now I see: there aren't badges from a specific level onwards, but just for some of them, in no particular order!

RE:

One of the big issues for non-Europeans with the prusameters rewards* is that the shipping cost is so high it isn't worth redeeming them unless you have thousands available (and then only if Prusa would allow multiple redemptions with a single shipping charge).  I would expect this is causing many to not bother posting makes and designs in Printables, or at least reduces the motivation.

Could Prusa implement the rewards and ship from their newly-acquired USA location?  I would expect this to be much more affordable for at least some people, and might increase the participation rate in printables.

(*) many other issues noted in this discussion topic totally ignored here

Are there any plans to add the MMU3 or upgrades to the rewards system? I tried to find a search function on the forums to check if someone has already asked this, but for the life of me... I can't find it.

Hello!

I tried to exchange my points for a 3 x Prusament Spool voucher today and got the message: "No voucher available, please try again later."

I haven't seen any announcements about this - is this a technical (IT?) problem or will it no longer be possible at all?

Thank you for help!

Best regards, Ed

RE: Prusa Badges and Rewards... What you want to know!

A couple of recommendations on badges. First, I don't understand the bitterness on a system that's meant to be for fun... and cause engagement. Will there be cheaters? Of course. When it's discovered a person is cheating (@_kaszpir_ mentioned a situation above), there should be an easy reporting process, review and account upload ban? The cheater (spammer) has their account blocked from uploading (models, makes, etc).
Models uploaded should be compared to existing models of similar name/type. Remixes shouldn't count as a "model upload." Maybe make a new badge called "mix master" for that?
Maybe make badges have an associated 3D printable item using an MMU that is about the size of a maker coin?
Maybe have badges for the courses in the academy?
Maybe have badges for MMU based prints (MMU or XL)?
Maybe provide people an opportunity to self-select "not participate" on models they upload? I've made a fairly simple model. It makes it so that a certain container in a specific case from Klein can provide four storage areas instead of two. It's the first model I made on my own in Shapr3D, and printed, and is useful for me. But it's little more than a divider that is a 3 mm thick plastic rectangle with specific dimensions and a notch in the center. Another 3 mm thick piece of plastic can perpendicularly bisect the first divider so that 4 spaces are made in the container instead of just the two the first divider provides. It wasn't hard to create this. I suspect that if someone has the ModBox system from Klein they may appreciate it. Is it worthy of any grand recognition? I don't think so.

The bitterness is because it has destroyed Printables as a resource.

If that’s the case (and I don’t see how it is while I’m using it as a resource) wouldn’t recommending solutions be a more profitable approach for all involved? What I probably should have said was, “How is the bitterness going to produce a solution?”
Again, I get it. Any time you create a system someone has to try to cheat it. It’s inevitable. But blaming the system does nothing. You’ll notice I asked for some things that can change the system to improve it (as far as I understand it).
