Printables.com Support and Forum

Printables is a great sharing site.  But...

What happened to support?  There used to be a button on the side that allowed comments.

Also... Printables.com deserves to have a forum topic of its own.

Who can I talk to regarding the points/rewards system?  Do I go to Prusa3d.com chat?

Shane mentioned a few weeks ago they're planning to start a forum for printables.

For now there's an (anemic) subreddit r/printablescom, and at least Mikolas Zuza has shown up there a couple of times.

When I go to Printables.com I see a Sort by Filter box at upper right. Have it set to Past 7 Days. Yet I continue to see same offerings every time I go to 3D Models Database. Is there. some other setting that must be changed to get Sort By to function?

@Pat, you may it it set to past 7 days but what is your sort criteria ?  The dropdown to the left of the timer period.

If sorting by new uploads the time period is greyed out and set to all time.  But if for example you are sorting by downloads and 7 days then the list is unlikely to change quickly as the popular ones will sit at the top.

RE:

My promo code for free pla filament became invalid because I put glow in the dark pla filament into my cart and I copied my code and realized that It was probably too expensive for the free voucher to work. So I deleted the code and added a different pla filament to my cart and my code is somehow now invalid. It would be awesome if you can help me explain the issue or replace my promo code if needed

RE: Printables.com Support and Forum

Prusa Team should add "empty" github repository for printables.com on Prusa Github with "Issues" enabled. That would allow tracking issues, avoid (mostly) duplicates, see people discussions etc.

My issue is that I cannot put directory as last in files list in published project on printables.com. Files can be ordered (that works) but it seems directories cannot. And when I remix things I often add "original" directory with files that I base on (in case if someone deletes his project). That directory is not very relevant and should be considered last but that's not possible to set on printables currently. Also 3d viewer shows stls from that dir first instead of more important remix stls etc.

RE: Printables.com Support and Forum

A couple months ago, I was able to browse the printables web site and download a printable. Now when I visit, I'm repeatedly challenged to verify I'm human and get nowhere. The site just refreshes and I get the same challenge (see attached image). It doesn't seem to matter what web browser I use on my laptop. I even disabled all my antivirus and using a browser with zero extensions that could interfere with my ability to get to the site. Interestingly, I can get to it on my cell phone from the same network, so I know it's not an IP address related thing either. Why am I suddenly getting this? disabling my Av does nothing and no browser extensions whatsoever. so what gives?

RE: Printables.com Support and Forum

are you using IPv6 only? check your IP info --> https://ipinfo.io/ and see if you have IPv4

problem with Cloudflare is it will require your location metadata and IP info. if you're using say Tor browser with minimum IP info, it will block you. check IP info and make sure you have required details.

Also, check if you have any adblockers and different extensions that trying to "secure" your experience

RE:

No IPv6, no VPN. Using Google Chrome on the most part, also tried using MS Edge (which I don't use so it's a clean browser to try) but with the exact same results.

Also cleared cookies and browser data (several times from both browsers I tried). I figure it's something with my laptop as I can get to it via iPhone on my same network, but nothing's changed since I last accessed the site. Also one of my partners was able to get to the site from her laptop on her network, so the site itself is working.

I'm VERY good at troubleshooting (been doing IT for nearly 40 years) but I'm not finding this one for some reason.

RE: Printables.com Support and Forum

Additionally, I've tried disabling any extensions and adblockers, etc. Also tried using private mode in both browsers, Disabled my Avast, everything that typically would interfere and it's still happening. Just repeatedly challenging me to click the checkbox and refreshing with the same stupid screen. There isn't even a captcha displaying for the challenge (which doesn't make any sense to me).

Can someone look up that Ray ID thing? I really don't want to create another useless account somewhere I don't have to for something I may only use 1 or two times.

RE: Printables.com Support and Forum

I figured it out. it was my AntiTrak software preventing me from accessing the site. It seems even though I quit the application, some things were still running in the background. Still not 100% sure why, but I think it must have something to do with it being hosted through CloudFlare maybe. At any rate, I added printables.com to the application's white list and it's working properly now.

RE: Printables.com Support and Forum

yes it was my Avast Premium which comes with some decent AntiTrak software. I thought quitting it would disable it but apparently not. I had to go digging in the settings and do some testing and then figured I could add a whitelist item and all was well.
