Print issue

Background: I have been printing on my mk3s+ for years now with a wide range of materials from TPU to ABS to PETG. The problem just started to randomly occur when printing PLA. I have printed PLA with no issues before and now all of a sudden I cannot seem to get it to print. I am using and have always used the default settings with 0.2 layer height Quality SPEED for PLA. I have tried troubleshooting it for hours with no success.

Problem: rough surface layers after the first layer (higher speed and flow rate). Please see the image.

Potential causes:

- Under/over extrusion?

Ran cold pull and cleaned nozzle for potential clogging issues. Adjusted Z offset to where the first layer was near perfect.

- Is the extruder gear too tight or loose?

Inspected, adjusted, and cleaned the extruder gear with no success.

- Is XYZ not properly calibrated? Z offset?

Readjusted PINDA and re-ran XYZ calibration through Prusa.

I did not troubleshoot the printer settings because I was able to print PLA perfectly a week or so ago.

Please, any help would be appreciated.

RE: Print issue

The only thing I can think of, is that there is an issue on one of the axis (so only X-direction or Y-direction, depending on the placement of the print). This assuming the image has the same placement/orientation as the machine, it looks that the printer is fine in X-direction and wobbly in the Y direction. If my assumption on placement/orientation is correct, you can easily check this buy rotating the object 90 degrees in the slicer.

We will do what we have always done. We will find hope in the impossible.

Please save your project as a .3mf file

Files > Save Project as

Zip the .3mf and post it here. It will contain both your part and your settings for us to diagnose.

Cheerio,
