OEM3D.COM?
Noob building a Bear from scratch with a question mainly for US users... Has anyone here successfully ordered from oem3d.com recently? I ordered some parts from them (they are one of the vendors listed in the Bear BOM) and have heard nothing back since the initial "thank you for your order" auto-mail. I sent them an email a few days ago inquiring as to when they expected to ship, and it bounced back as undeliverable:
<[email protected]>:550: Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable
There is no other means of contact listed besides the email. I do see they have a notice on the top of their main page that says they are going through a covid outbreak. No idea how long that notice has been there or if they are still going through it. Hence my question, anybody know if they are still a going concern, or did I place an order at a zombie site? It's approaching 3 weeks since I placed my order.
Thanks.
RE: OEM3D.COM?
I know it's easy to be a smart ass after the fact, but one should never transfer money to such "one-man-band" store. There's no info "About" company (location, history, business policy, etc.) and that alone makes the things suspicious enough.
There's nothing you can do right now, except wait... or better: forget the whole thing and purchase elsewhere. Sorry to hear about your bad experience, though.

RE: OEM3D.COM?
I wouldn't classify it as a bad experience just yet. I do need the parts and I'm just a little concerned is all and wondering when I should go ahead and pull the trigger on disputing the charge through my credit card company. That's at least one thing I can do (besides asking about them here), and if it does come to that I will eventually get my money back. In hindsight yeah, there are some things about the site with regard to lack of alternate contact info, a LOT of stuff showing out of stock, but they are listed in the Bear BOM as a vendor for what that is worth. And with the supply chain issues these days, everybody seems to be out of stock of a lot of stuff. Near as I can tell they are located in Orlando but it took a little digging to find that.
RE: OEM3D.COM?
So, after another week with no word and another bounced email, called the credit card company to dispute the transaction today and ordered the parts for my build elsewhere.
One mistake I made, was not noticing that this vendor was not on the actual Bear BOM; they were listed on a spreadsheet that another user compiled for scratch builders of the bear, which is simply linked from the Bear github.
If they are truly going through a Covid outbreak then I wish for their speedy recovery, but either way it's probably best to avoid purchasing from OEM3D.com for the time being.
