Is the Mk3 leaving 8-bit any time soon? Asking to save time/effort/money.

Somehow, I seem to have damaged my Rambo. I'm getting a MINTEMP error on the bed, with both the currently installed bed thermistor, the replacement that I haven't installed (which I apparently don't need, the cable looked fine), and after swapping the bed and hotend thermistor cables.

I don't feel up to trying to solder on the Rambo.

Before I do that, however, I want to ask: Are there any near-date plans to upgrade the classic Prusa to a new board? Something in the next 3 months? I think I can <twitch> live <twitch> without the printer <twitch, twitch> for that long, if Mk4 is right around the corner.

I think your guess is as good as anyone else’s. Rumors of the MK4 have been around since mid 2021 but, as far as I know, no official word from Prusa has been issued.

With any luck, the supply chain issues and other delays with the XL launch are being sorted and the many folks who jumped on the pre-order bandwagon over a year ago will actually see their printers arrive in the next few months.

I guess this gives hope for an announcement re the MK4, or whatever it will be called, sometime in the (relatively ) near future. What that will look like and whether there will be an upgrade path to a 32 bit board for MK3/S/+ users remains to be seen.

Having said all that, I seriously doubt you’ll see anything in the next few months. Maybe just bite the bullet and shell out the $$$ for a new Einsy board so you can get back to printing sometime soon.

Thats just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Cheers

Hmmmm, I thought I said that… maybe my phrasing was too obtuse, although that was my meaning.
