Interesting outer texture
I have been surprised by the fabric-like texture you can see in the image below:
It was the result of printing this object with 0.2 mm layer height and 1mm layer width on an otherwise standard Prusament PLA MK3 profile (PrusaSlicer 2.2).
The object had two perimeters on that wall and it was this model: https://media.prusaprinters.org/media/prints/61818/stls/663949_59c16873-b37f-4901-ab53-2a81766c26d3/v3.stl#_ga=2.188764003.938084368.1620460043-1956480792.1612352463

Looks almost like carbon fibre.
Very cool 👍
Tank you very much!

@clarmrrsn
Yup. looks like carbon fiber. What filament did you use?

Hi Chuck,
It was the Prusament Galaxy Black PLA filament.

@misan
Thanks. It looks very nice. I have a roll. I might try to print this.

I'm curious how you oriented the part to print - or did you simply invert and use supports for the "bottom" surface?
RE: Interesting outer texture
@tim-2
I printed bottom-side up.
RE: Interesting outer texture
@misan
Are you showing the bottom side or the top?

Would you be willing to post a .3mf for us to look at?
I'm interested in that texture you've created and would like to explore it.

RE: Interesting outer texture
I just took my regular 0.2mm profile and set everything to 1mm extrusion. Got the texture shown, more or less, but only on the thinner walls. Sort of cool. I suspect setting only infill to 1mm will get the same effect. Though, setting everything to 1mm sure sped up the print time... lol.
I printed handle down, and bridging got me (bottom inside of cup is loose strands).
RE: Interesting outer texture
I had the same texture. Thanks.

I rotated it in the base till I got the bridges crossing the shortest side.

@cwbullet
Glad to know it was not an oddity of my printer/firmware.

The side I am showing textured is the vertical walls. It is almost of all of them, only fading near the layer change seam.
