Infill time something wrong..

Hello there, look I have been having this issue with the prusa slicer, my machine is a Artillery X1, that's maybe the problem but maybe not.. the thing is when I slice a model the infill set up starting to not work at the speed I configure it, by default it said 70 mm, but it goes so slow maybe at 20 mm, so the entire infill take more time than the entire piece, it used to worked well but now it start giving me that kind of times, for example: perimeter: 1:58 hrs, supports: 2:20 hrs, INFILL: 5:58 hrs.. I use no more than 8% and when that thing start to print the infill it goes to snail's speed... wt..!? I already upgrade to the new version 2.6.1, I said in my mind ok this will gona fix it, but No.. 😨 ..and even when I said it could be my machine I mean the firmware for my machine because it gives the printing time and there it is.. I could set up the infil time at 150 mm, in the general section of the software or in the specific model, then alright, 'laminate', no problem... 5 thousand hours of infill wt..!? and the infill goes slooooow 😥😥 Ican´t get it.. some help Please; I'll be much gratefull

good morning, Luis,

could you please save a project file for a model, that shows this issue, then please zip compress the project file, and attach the zipfile to your next post.

No, it needs to be a Project file...

Drop the files menu in the top left of the screen, Choose 'Save Project As'

then save the file  with a recognisable  title,

then zip the project file, and attach the project file tot he next post

Ok!, here it is..Infill-TIME-Broken--

I remember you that the thing is: I set up the infill at any speed, like 70 or 80% usually, but when it is sliced, there is a bunch of hours of infill time, and it even desn´t looks like it is slower in the preview print screen, but then in the physical printing it goes slooow, I guess about 15 or 20 mm/s...

I actually had printed this model last night anyways.. again.. and it confirms, around 14 hours for this little shit, I have never printed so long for something that small.

anyways, thank by looking my issue, I'll be glad to read what is your point of view on this.

Hi  Luis.
What filament are you actually using? the temperatures look like PLA
the chosen profile says BVOH. and the settings for Bvoh are slow
it looks like you have changed the speeds but not changed the 'Max Volumetric Speed' setting

Max volumetric speed for BVOH is set to 4mm cubed per second, and normal PLA would be 15mm cubed per second (On an e3Dv6 hotend)

printing speeds
Dark Blue is 10mm/s (Infill)
Green is 30mm/s       (Perimeters)
Yellow is 40mm/s      (Supports)

changing the Max volumetric flow rate to 15 mm3/s
raises infill speed to 40mm/s
external Perimeters to 50mm/s
Internal Perimeters to 70mm/s
Supports  to 46mm/s

I Hope this helps.

mmm.. I do not configured the material setting for the file I send you, but I used to set up as PET in this case, because I use PETG in this case.. about the way, when that material is changed, I never know what other thing is changing in the settings.. how could I know, but always wonder it my self.. why prusa is inconsitent to advice things like that?..

Ok, I'll take a look to what you said, Thank too much, I'll let you know my progress. 💙👍

RE: Infill time something wrong..

Good morning Luis.
I believe your printer is an artillery X1.

the Artillery X1 profile, only has a 0.4mm nozzle profile,

Prusa do not manufacture the Artillery X1.
It is unreasonable to complain that they do not offer other configurations for different nozzle sizes.

From the project file that you posted some time ago, it looks like you are actually using the 'Prusa Mini' profile. (Not the Artillery X1 profile)

the config wizard for the Prusa Mini, has profiles for several nozzle sizes, pre configured.
Have you loaded these alternative configurations?

Please  note, the  Input shaper profiles, are not suitable for the artillery X1

If you choose the 0.25mm nozzle profile, it will adjust the extrusion width settings to suit the small nozzle,
then when you select the filament type (Say generic PETG) the slicer will change the settings for that, automatically.

other artillery users may have different profiles that they can help you with.

regards Joan

Thank you very much, Joan, for your thoughtful response. I now have a better understanding, and I believe I should dedicate some time to the firmware issue or something similar. Fortunately, for now, I am printing fine, but I can already see that it will be my future challenge 😂😅. Keep it up, Joan! Thanks again, and I will probably be back here. I'll be attentive to your comments.
