How to backup PrusaSlicer

Hi!

I'm new to PrusaSlicer and run several times into some issue during update the app.

I setup my slicer, and put some specific G-code, parameters etc. what is relevant for me and my printings.

When a new update is coming and I install that recently ally setups lost.

How can I make let's say a backup of my whole setup I made to put that on a safe place, if I need to reinstall or update PrusaSlicer I don't have to worry about my setups...?

Thanks.

When you make changes, do you save them as custom profiles? Custom profiles should not be overwritten by updates.

In `Configuration` menu you can choose `Take Configuration Snapshot` it will save all the profiles, and settings you have. And you can backup it, folder place vary from the operating system you use.

As Fuchsr mentions you must save your own custom profiles.  Once you have then the best way to back them up is to use File>Export>Configuration Bundle.  That saves any CUSTOM profiles to basically a big .ini file.  The file will contain custom print, filament and printer profiles.
That file can be stored off site, on a usb stick etc.  You can restore those custom profiles to any computer at a later date using the Import option for config bundle.
This wont save the system profiles (but those can be restored by the config wizard anyway).  Just your personalised ones.

While the 'new' configuration snapshot mentioned by mixer3d is ok it requires you to locate and mess around with the config folder to save it off line, unlike a config bundle.

If I remember right when updating PrusaSlicer doesn’t it ask you if you want to delete old versions before installing the new one. If you're deleting the old versions that could be your problem.
