Forum help: Avoid notification emails?
I am sure this has been discussed before, but can't find anything: Is there a global setting on this forum (in my profile maybe?) which avoids the email notifications for each new post, in threads where I have posted or to which I have subscribed?
I like the "bell" icon and dropdown list which points out new relevant posts to me whenever I return to the forum. But I don't want to be notified by email in the meantime -- and certainly not by a new email for each and every new post. But it seems to me that the two notification mechanisms are joined at the hip and cannot be controlled individually. Also, whenever I post again in a thread, notifications which I had previously toggled off get turned on again.
Am I overlooking something? Or, if better control over email notifications is indeed unsupported -- could that be added to the forum software please?

the forum seems to automatically subscribe you with every post you make in a thread!
You have to manually untick the 'Subscribe to this topic' check box at the bottom of the thread - just under the reply box.
Otherwise, for all previous threads you may have unknowingly subscribed to, hover over your username in the top right, and select 'My Profile'.
Then click on the 'Subscriptions' tab and unsubscribe from the threads.
Frustratingly annoying!

Thanks! I have found that work-around, and most of the time I remember to unsubscribe (yet again) after adding another answer to a thread.
But that also stops the thread from being pointed out by the "bell" icon when there's a new reply. That function I find much more useful (since it is less intrusive), and I would ideally like to keep it active. But apparently there is no way to achieve that? It's either bell + email, or no notification at all?

Prusa or the moderators should be able to set up the forum to do this. Every other forum I'm a part of allows you to select how you want to receive notifications, and it'll function just how the OP is asking.

Also when you get an email there is a Unsubscribe option in it.

this task is not one that we can resolve ourselves.

There is a button with a :bell: icon on it at the bottom of the page. Click that for a menu of options for notifications from the topic.

Hmm -- I can't see that button. Only bell icon I notice is at the top right of each page; it turns orange when there are new notifications (anywhere in the forum). Could you describe more specifically where to look, or share a screenshot? Many thanks!

Alas, this is not every other forum ☹️ So many irritating "features", but clearly Prusa has other priorities than replacing it with something more useful.
Formerly known on this forum as @fuchsr -- until all hell broke loose with the forum software...

I've setup a filter if comes from [email protected] and has subject "New Reply" it gets moved to a different folder, at least now it is out my inbox (could delete it, but I like to be sure working correctly before I do that)
