Finally tried some Prusamnet PETG

Since I received my Mini+ I've been using some leftover generic PETG used with a previous printer, it worked but had a lot of strings and nubs in the surface, any changes I made just made it worse. All the info from Prusa seemed to say that their PETG didn't do that, so I decided to order some Prusament PETG in two colors. I was really surprised by how quickly it got here, only two days to Washington state (USA), that is amazing.

But nothing compared to the printing with it, absolutely NO stringing or nubs AT ALL. Perfectly smooth ready to go surfaces. I was amazed at the results.

This whole experience with the Mini+ and Prusament is just completely different than I was used to, no test prints, spending hours calibrating things after not using the machine for a few weeks, just turn it on, load the filament, press print and a perfect model shows up on the bed, EVERY TIME!

This is such a game changer I'm going to be printing all kinds of stuff now, I used to second guess myself and say "do I really want to spend all the effort to do this?" Now it's  "just do it". I have a feeling I'm going to be coming back for a lot more Prusament.

Prusament is very good but you should be able to find equally good filament stateside. I have very good experience with many quality brands, specifically Overture, Atomic and Protopasta. And even with Prusament I've seen issues, I found Neon Green to be a character building challenge unless dried daily...

I've had very good results with Atomic but just started having GreenGate shipped to me. 100% recycled and been very impressed with the results. Have heard bad things about some of the recycled PETG but this product has really impressed me. I print mostly PETG for user parts (prosthetics) and found it is a bit more "springy" and flexible than the Atomic but just as strong. I actually like that!

RE:

I have a MK3s with more than 4000+hrs on it now(no issues so far), I print mostly Prusament using their default settings with great results.

Hardness could be interesting for scratch resistance in an end product. But then again an end product is most likely varnished.
Honestly considering how cheap PETG is and how well it prints, it is easy my most favorite material.

I use Atomic, Filamatrix, and Filastruder exclusively.  All stateside and of domestic manufacture.  No strings, nubs, or blobs or anything else untoward.

Lately I have been buying 2.5kg spools from Filamatrix, and 3.5kg spools from Atomic.  I hate running out of filament mid print.  Works great.
