Fastest printer yet?

Greetings!

Can anyone please clarify which printer is faster, and how so?

From https://www.prusa3d.com/product/original-prusa-mk4s-3d-printer-5/ we read this:

"While the MK4S is our fastest printer yet, it never sacrifices quality for quicker print times."

and yet, from  https://www.prusa3d.com/en/product/prusa-core-one-kit-advanced-filtration-bundle/  we read:

"While the CORE One+ is our fastest printer yet [...] it never sacrifices quality for quicker print times."

Thanks in advance for providing any clarity,
rtMcGill

RE:

The CORE One is faster, coreXY kinematics don't sling the part around and allow for higher acceleration.
Prusa should re-word the MK4S marketing as their fastest Bed Slinger or Cartesian style printer and it would still be accurate.

That's probably not possible! Didn't it occur to you that both statements are true, but they are valid at the time of publication? And that at the time of publication of a newer (faster) printer, no one will deal with editing the older text?

Then how can those statements be made?

Didn't it occur to you that both statements are true, but they are valid at the time of publication? And that at the time of publication of a newer (faster) printer, no one will deal with editing the older text?

It certainly did occur to me, however there is no date on at least one of those blurbs, so that information is unavailable, and the statements just read like sloppy writing. For a company that deals in precision and utility, this is sub-par. For manufacturers, not maintaining documentation is amateurish - in my opinion. Time-stamping is trivial to do.

My experience with Prusa, going back to 2018, is that they make very good products and they surround them with lots of hype. Their documentation is copious, but not very careful. This example makes my case. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to communicate this.

Thanks, that was a very clear statement. Out of curiosity, do you have any data on this, or can you direct me to some?
Cheers!

From a practical point of view, it matters less than is intuitive (I'd put my money on Core XY, as outlined above).

Extrusion speed has other limits, and the benefits from (even) faster travel are marginal.

If you want a speed demon, get a Voron. If not fast enough, put in a 48 V power supply for XY and go on a weight-saving spree.

The journey is the destination.
