Development cycles...

I'm looking at Prusa's development cycles and time-to-market struggles. And then Prusa sends me this advert for the HT90:

Its not about Prusa development cycles and you know that 😉

See my GitHub and printables.com for some 3d stuff that you may like.

They didn't develop this printer, TRILAB did. Prusa then bought out the company in 2021 and kept the founder to support it. It runs Klipper. I saw somewhere that Prusa is introducing a SLS printer? It all makes sense. They cannot compete anymore in the consumer space. Going after the industrial sector is the right approach for them.

I know. The point of the advert is that just having an HT90 supposedly lets you launch new products quickly, right? Maybe Prusa should add a few to their R&D labs and print farm.

Good point. Prusa gave Grant - 3D Musketeers one and he started doing videos about it. But I agree with @Rubarb that on paper at least, the 22 IDEX is a better printer. It will certainly stack better in a print farm than a 1.5 m tall delta.

To add to this, I don't expect Prusa to remain in the consumer space after the INDX. Maybe there will be a Core Two but I just don't see them being able to compete anymore. By next year I expect every company that produces a mid-range and up CoreXY to either have a tool changer or an option for one.

I saw that video, I was not impressed with the build quality for the price. If any of the industrial companies start making a consumer tiered industrial printer, Prusa will have no market left.

What's interesting is that Vision Miner didn't build the 22 IDEX either. They bought it from elsewhere and have been modding it since. Developing a safe, smallish form-factor high temp printer is harder than it seems. Otherwise we should be seeing a lot more of them. There is this: Alcheman 3D Printer which claims 450 hotend and 90 chamber for $999 but I wouldn't want this thing in my house.
