I have a question regarding licences.

CC BY-NC-ND 4.0  means:

Attribution — You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.

NonCommercial — You may not use the material for commercial purposes.

NoDerivatives — If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you may not distribute the modified material.

So, am I allowed to modify a model, only to print and donate it so somebody, and honoring the author?

My understanding is that ND applies to STLs or design files ("the material") not anything you produce

The wording is a little ambiguous. As I understand it, you can't distribute derivative designs (e.g., modified STLs). "The material" is the STL or design file, not your print. IANAL of course, so do a bit more checking, but I don't think distributing a print is a problem.

I agree with Bob. You can't upload and share your derivative but you can create prints of it and give them away for free. Selling would be a different story.
