Buying a new printer

Evening all, I am looking to buy another Prusa and would like something a bit bigger than a mini but have a few questions.

Is a used MK3s or Mk3s+ still a good buy and what would you expect to pay?  I also like the idea of updating on of it with the 3.5 upgrade as it seems to give some nice to haves but this would cost nearly £300.

The problem is that if I do the upgrade and have already paid about £300 - £350 for a decent second hand Mk3s or + I am then getting close to new Mk4 money.

Thanks Mark

RE:

Here, Sweden, a used mk3s/+ goes for betweek 4-5000sek (3-350pund) while the used mini+ is about the same, altho fewer of them on the market.

I have one mini+ (setup with 0.6 and pla) and one mk3s+ (setup with 0.8 and petg/abs/asa) (both kits directly from prusa).

In my opinion a used mk3s/+ is a good value for the utility.

I'm looking to add another printer when i find one that is somewhat located nearby.

I'm not interested in the mmu-unit so for my needs, is different nozzlesizes and tuned printers to each material that is the most value for me.

This post has nothing to do with this subject, but I'm very curious, is it Mr. Stoned, or Mrs. Toned.  Both are possible and create wildly different mental images.

🙂

What are your requirements?  How large of a build volume do you need or want?

For my money the load-cell sensor bed-levelling on the MK4 is a game changer and I wouldn't consider any printer without load-cell now. It really is that big a deal. Built-in WiFi + Prusalink on the MK4 is also a nice bonus. No more SD cards just print directly from Prusaslicer.

Other people will have different priorities but for me the only advantage of the MK3 is a slightly lower price. But my mentality is "buy once cry once". The money spent is soon forgotten but the printer is forever.
