12V DC on the MK4 for LED strip

Hey, I have a short LED strip I want to connect to a 12v connector on my MK4. No switch or enclosure just to be simply ON when the printer is ON.

I see the power supply has 24v connections. Where would I find a 12V hook to hard wire these LED strips in?

I compared the price of 24V LED strips and 24 to 12 buck converters on amazon, and ordered the buck converters :-). I have a short wire coming out of the buddy board box with a connector on it to plug and unplug the lights if they need moving.

Does that mean that there is no 12v output anywhere?

Can you share a photo of your connection point?

No there is no 12v output. What he is saying is an easy option is to take the 24v supply, send that to a simple circuit called a buck converter which will step it down to whatever voltage you want. They are dead easy to use two connectors on input for +ve and -ve, same on output, and screw adjustment for voltage: see fourth picture in link below. I use one to power my camera which is 5v. You do need a soldering iron and a volt metre to set them up but they are a cheap and effective way to reduce dc voltage. Link is to one one I last bought but there are loads of examples on Amazon, ebay, aliexpress, etc.

RE:

Or put two 12v strips in series with a fuse (2A may be enough) if you know that you can do that ( depends on the led strips)

See my GitHub and printables.com for some 3d stuff that you may like.

Here's more than you want to know about my lighting setup. I don't have a photo inside the buddy board, but I just crimped connectors on the end of the wire that runs inside, loosened the screws and shoved them in with one set of power lines coming into the buddy board then tightened the screw back down.

Thank you for all the replies. I will just swap the 12v to a 24v strip. That would be the easiest.
