Voronoi-Teddybear

I printed this voronoi complete without supports. Looks good, not perfect, but OK.

Printtime 50h, uses 115m of filament 😯 I use rigid.ink PLA Plus+. Fills nearly complete volume of the printerspace (23x19x20cm)

Any suggestions for smoothing PLA ?

Thomas

Re: Voronoi-Teddybear

Hey Thomas!

Great looking print! So far I have found two successful ways to smooth non-ABS prints: 1.)Bondo putty, sanding, and priming (several coats), and 2.) Two-part epoxy casting resin. I would recommend the two-part epoxy resin because I feel that it takes a lot less manual labor to get pretty awesome results.

One of the most commonly recommended resins is XTC-3D by Smooth-On ( https://www.smooth-on.com/products/xtc-3d/ ). Personally, I have used XTC-3D and Easycast and I have found that they are pretty comparable... I would say pick the stuff you can find at Hobby Lobby, Michael's, etc. and save yourself the cost of shipping!

Thanks,
Logan
