Incidentally do you use a dry box for the carbonium nylon? Treed does suggest it might not be needed. [edit: website actual says “do not have to dry the filament before use”]

from my experience carbonium nylon has the least water absorption out of all the cf nylons i tested (including carbonium pahp and even ultem) .but still , its a nylon , so if i do anything important or structural part , i will dry it in an oven before use.
and now for my clic3r testing , i think its a fail 😐
lats start with the good -
nozzle not clogged . with 0.4 nozzle and 0.15 layer height , 0.4mm retraction and no clogs .
honestly , i dont know what exactly changed that i no longer get clogs with 0.4 nozzle .
it might be the titanium heat break as it was the only hardware part that was changed since my last clog .
it might also be related to the extruder tension . i think i'm using lighter tension then recommended (around 14mm washer to washer distance on mk2s extruder) but i think the grubbing strength is very high .
for example one time i had a loop on the filament spool (its above the enclosure) and the extruder started to lift the printer of the floor .
the bad -
could not control the oozing with slic3r . i know too much retraction will cause nozzle to clog , so i tried some workarounds .
i marked "wipe while retracting" and also changed the retraction speed to 0.1mm/s .
so if my retraction is 0.4mm , the extruder should wipe and retract for 4 seconds .
this didnt happen , dont know why . maybe there is some minimum for retraction speed as it was retracting fast .

That doesn't look too good for us Slic3r useres...
And I suspect that the MK3 might play a role in the issues I was having with clogs.
The earlier versions of the MK3 had cooling issues, as the super silent Noctua fan and the extruder design limited the air flow so much that PLA was clogging at higher ambient temperatures due to insufficient cooling. The latest design change improved that situation, but maybe there is still a difference between the MK2 and the MK3 in terms of cooling efficiency?
Your experience that the Titanium heat break performs better could indicate that these CF filaments are very sensitive to the temperature difference between hot end and cold end. According to the table below, Titanium has about 20% lower heat transfer coefficient than stainless steel, so it could really make the difference here:

It is pretty cold now in my basement (about 17 degC) and I think I will try printing without the enclosure to help keeping the cold end cool, and at the same time maybe try decreasing the temperature and try printing a part with as little retractions as possible.
I really hope we can solve that.

i dont think printing in cold environment is a good idea . you might have better looking parts , but they will be weak .layer adhesion will be poor .
i just found my end script in the s3d profile i added includes retraction . if anybody using the profile you should remove this retract from the end script , it might cause a clog before next print .
i will work on the slic3r profile later when i'll have some time . my printer was busy printing ...
i used my s3d carbonium profile to print 3dxtech carbonx . its a gen 1 (no longer made) and i'm trying to finish it and get the new gen 3 .
hoped they'll have some black friday deals , as they used to , but no 😯 .
carbonium profile worked ok for 3dxtech stuff also .
those parts took more then 24hrs (in total) due to my slow printing 😀
also pre-ordered new e3d nozzle x hardened nozzles .

no . its not as strong (stiff) as i wish it was for a "premium" priced filament .
but stiffness is not always the #1 priority . also i can make the part stiffer by just using more material .
and the main reason using it is , well , I ALREADY bought it lol . i wont just throw it away 😀
as soon as i finish my gen 1 spools i'll but the newer gen 3 version to test also.
as for the slic3r , i did some digging into the gcode and found that my very slow retraction speed caused the slicer to stop retracting completely .
i found that the minimum retraction speed you can use with slic3r is 0.5mm .
unfortunately i found another problem with slic3r and its the toolpath generation .
i have no idea what is the logic behind slic3r toolpaths , they are pretty crazy .
for example this is slicer generated 1st benchy layer gcode , "avoid crossing perimeters" marked , check the tool path :
check out how many times the tool is crossing perimeters , also what are those crazy moves to outside of print area i marked in the 2 top red circles ?
have no idea why its doing that .
in comparison , check simplify3d 1st layer gcode with my profile
non of the inner perimeters is crossed even once (well once to make the D letter island)
also check how many times it crosses perimeters mid print , also check all those crazy tool moves outside of print area . is this some kind of a bug ?

ok , i didnt give up , so eventually i was able to get a good print out of slic3r 😀
this is a slic3r benchy with carbonium
i did some post processing to the gcode file in order for it to work properly .
unfortunately i'm not that good in coding , so i need some help here .
is any of you know how to add "replace" command to slic3r post processing script ?
i know its possible , but the "replace" command i use for simplify3d didnt work on slic3r , it might be syntax issue .
so i just changed whatever i wanted to change with a notepad+
some explanation :
i set the retract speed to 0.5mm/s (the slowest that works) , set 40% retract before wipe , 0.6mm total retraction .
reduced temp to 250 (it might have worse layer adhesion , but not by much)
now i needed to replace the static retract acceleration in the gcode to regular speed (so only while wiping the retract is very slow , to make the wiping longer) .
in order to do that , open the gcode file with notepad
then need to find the lines that includes the slow retract speed "F60.00000" and replace all those with "F1800.00000" (just press ctrl+f and go to replace tab)
if anybody know how to do that under post processing script please let me know

Indeed slic3r actions do look odd. I guess you get what you pay for. But simlify3d is somewhat expensive.
The config.rar file - is that a windows file as It does seem to be recognised by my computer.

I have started working with treed carbonium filament.
I have very limited experience with 3D printing but time is running so I had to try.
I have done 6 small objects in Prusa PLA to get some idea how this magic works.
I have installed Olsson Ruby 0.6mm nozzle, downloaded config file posted above by Sergey and started.

I have changed the nozzle size from 0.4 to 0.6 mm in the config and increased speeds to 35mm except external perimeters (left at 25mm) and bridges (left at 20mm).
It worked quite well.
In the above picture top part has been printed with 0.15mm layer height and bottom one at 0.2mm.
(I'm not sure how to post images so only a link to photo)
Sergey's config is for MK2, I have MK3 printer so I would appreciate if anyone can advise if I should make any more adjustments in configuration?

Purchased a second printer to build a bear upgrade. Did the entire thing in CF PETG. Sample attached. I used Atomic filament.

Turned z hop off, 0.20 layer height, 4 perimeters, 20% infil. Not too much to right home about.

Our printer has been quite busy. Above photo shows bearing blocks we have printed to use in construction of telescopic elevator arm on our robot. Rectangular slots are used to install teflon sliding blocks which allow low friction movement.

My CF printed parts have already ruined two of my steel PEI sheets. I use Window cleaner and let the CF printed part cool down to almost zero degrees Celsius, but upon removal it rips the PEI right of the steel plate 😥

XT-CF20 from ColorFabb, but today I experimented with using hairspray on the steel PEI sheet and the 6x8cm item, popped right off... Promising 😁
