You need management right to upload to prusa connect?
I realized something, all the users in my team had problem uploading g-code to prusa connect. The first upload bar appears and finish to 100% saying that the file was correctly uploaded. The problem is from there nothing happens and the file is not even in prusa connect.
I thought that they had some kind of security on their computer that blocked the upload. But then I tried to give them the highest level of right (manage) and now everything is working fine. They can transfer their file to prusa connect.
Does this behavior only happens to us, or is it something others experienced? I don't want all the users in my team to manage because then they can remove users, remove printers, rename printers, etc... I would have thought that giving the right to "Use" the printer would allow them to upload g-code.
RE: You need management right to upload to prusa connect?
No, this is "intentional" and unfinished. When sketching up this feature, the "use" was implemented meaning a farm operator use, not a user use. This will get changed in the coming months once more granular settings start getting implemented.

Good, maybe there could be an additional level added in the future.
As I see it:
Read: Great for our production planer asking for order, they are not using the printers but they can see when the prints will be done.
Use: Like you said, when our printer will be in production and we have people there starting prints, they will be able to start print but not modify files.
"Maker": This is what I thought user was, we have many people designing in house and uploading g-code for productions and also using the printers.
Manage: Would be very few people that can modify users, printers name, delete or add printer, maybe someday approve print sent to queue 😁 . Basically all the option allowed.
Thank you for the answer, I will see how it will evolve in the future.

Yup, makes sense, We've also received a request for the ability to submit print requests, or to re-order the queue only by certain people. This will need more attention for sure, especially for schools. Thanks for trying out Connect and sorry for the inconvenience. 🙂

Hi there, I was just wondering if there was an update about this? As mentioned in the post, it would be very useful for schools and universities if there were more levels of permissions allowing students to upload files but not have control over the team. Many thanks,
Maria
