Connecting you must be joking i for one have wasted over 4 hours messing around tying to get the BUDDY 3D to connect to my network? I have been over every single option that is on the forums IE: Rest, no dark theme, clean webpage install, Guest network, easy password ( no special characters in the password ) When scanning the QR code it keeps beeping 6 times until stop scanning is heard then after a few seconds, 3 more beeps?

Is this a pile of c**p or should i get a replacement/refund Because other cam's work well come on PRUSER SORT IT OUT.

RE: Wifi Connection Setup

I think there is a great deal of confusion... It seems there may be 3 (or more) versions of Buddy cameras. The first flavor that I know of looks kinda like a dog or puppy. I think i have a couple of version 2. It seems to me i read about a Buddy camera which is mounted in an enclosure.

Is my observations accurate?

I gave up on the Buddy V2 and am very happy with Wyze cameras. I do not know if they support time‐lapse images.

The Waze cameras are much cheaper than the Buddy cameras. But for my needs I prefer the Wyze. I like the very good night vision, ability to auto track the movements of the printer head and 2-way sound; and the Wyze cameras can be used outside (even in the Oregon rain).

Just wasted several hours of my life only to find out that '\' (forward slash) does not seem to be an allowable special character.  Be nice if Prusa entered the 21st Century.  Buddy Cam may be a nice addition but not if I have to reconfigure everything to get to work.  Maybe they should disclose so we don't buy useless equipment.

I'd try doubling that backslash. For a lot of software, "\" has special meaning - "\\" encodes a single backslash.

Why would anyone ship a WiFi product without labeling it with the MAC address? Without the MAC address I am unable to allow it on my WiFi network. My WiFi network can only whitelist devices, and won't let any other device connect to it. Because if that, I can't look into the WiFi network to se the MAC address. Is your router not able to capture a list of unauthorized devices and list their MACs for you? Then allow that MAC manually?

RE: Wifi Connection Setup

Anyone confirm that $ is not allowable for the Buddy Cam?  I finally got my printers set up and now have to go through it all again?

RE: Wifi Connection Setup

Ugh.  This Buddy3D is a piece of junk and so is the software to control it.  I had to set up a second access point closer to the printer to get it to connect.  Even though my other computers and IoT devices all connect to my main access point including the backyard bird cam 125' away the Buddy3D struggles to connect.  The main access point is only 28' away.  Everything in the same room as the printer connects, even things that require 2.4GHz, but not the Buddy3D.  The new access point is now 18" away and now the dopey camera stays connected and stops its whining.  It even refreshes the picture every minute like it should.  However, now I can no longer get to the control screen to change the camera settings.  Every time I tap on the little gear icon on the image in the app it shows a banner "Camera is not connected".  It then dutifully refreshes the image and timestamp (proving that the camera IS connected somehow) but there are no camera controls.  It's maddening.  I even tried connecting my phone to the same 2.4GHz access point that the Buddy3d is connected to but that does not help.  I suppose I could reset and repair the camera again (who here hasn't tried that 50 times?) but I'm too tired of this.

The app doesn't seem to be able to detect the proper firmware version of the printer.  It always shows a stale version.  Prusa connect never stays logged in and always requires reauthentication making using the enhanced security far too cumbersome.  The little image thumbnails always display upside down no matter how many times you rotate them.

ugh.
