Any Updates on Firmware for fixing Color and Livestream?
Hi everyone,
I wanted to ask if there have been any updates regarding the firmware that’s supposed to fix the camera’s low-light, so we can finally get proper color video images and also the livestream features in Prusa Connect.
There was some mention or hope for these improvements back in January, and many of us have been patiently waiting since then.
Has anyone heard anything official from Prusa about this?
I’m starting to wonder if we should still wait, or if it’s time to consider switching to OctoPrint instead and move on from Prusa Connect. I’m hoping that’s not necessary, but it would help to know what to expect.
Is there a beta version being tested? Is the feature still planned, or has it been delayed indefinitely?
Of course, I completely understand that firmware development takes time, especially when quality and stability are involved. But in the past few months, we've seen major leaps in other areas of tech (like AI), so it feels surprising to still be waiting for a basic fix like camera color in low light.
A brief update or roadmap from the team would go a long way in keeping the community aligned and engaged.
Thanks in advance to the team, and to anyone who might have more insight.
RE: Any Updates on Firmware for fixing Color and Livestream?
This has been promised since the Buddy camera was sold. None of what Prusa said would be upgrades to the camera setup have been implemented mines is in constant black and white. Very disappointed with the whole Buddy Camera debacle.
RE: Any Updates on Firmware for fixing Color and Livestream?
Prusa has posted an enhancement roadmap for the Buddy Cameras. It is listed on the Camera sales page. https://www.prusa3d.com/product/buddy3d-camera-for-prusa-core-one/
It lists the expected updates for 3 quarters. Q2 is a big one, but late since we just moved into the 3rd quarter. Maybe not far away...

I solved the color problem in the camera myself.
I simply added LED strips to increase the brightness in the chamber. This automatically started the transmission of the image in color.

Could you share some interior photos of the camper and the link to the LED lights you used?
