Camera disconnecting from Unifi WIFI and refusing to reconnect

I have an IoT dedicated 2.4GHz SSID for all my IoT devices (>150). This SSID is setup to be as compatible as possible with all IoT devices, and other than a Sonos One, the Prusa Camera (the internal one) is the only device that struggles to stay connected. All the networking gear is UNIFI and I run the latest firmware. There are 5 APs, with one of them being within 3m of the Prusa Core One+ printer and camera.

The only way I have found to reconnect the camera is to connect my phone to the IoT SSID and show the camera a new QR code. This is getting annoying and I wonder what, if any, setting might be causing this issue... or whether this is a device issue (more likely since it is the only device having issues).

RE: Camera disconnecting from Unifi WIFI and refusing to reconnect

Sorry, no solution. I'm in the same situation. If anyone can get it working on a Unify network please let us know.
Updating to camera FW 3.1.4 at least made the camera report "connection successful" and reconnect after power cycle. I can see the camera connected in unify controller. Rx/Tx data is 0 though...

I've tried to make a dedicated 2.4Ghz network with the absolute simplest configuration possible... I'm also very frustrated at this point. This is by far the worst connectivity firmware in a device I've encountered. I have multiple espressif based devices on my network and even though they generally only support 2.4 Ghz I've never had to create a separate network for them before.

When creating a hotspot on my phone the camera connects and send a picture to the app so to me this indicates a crappy firmware rather than a hardware issue.

RE: Camera disconnecting from Unifi WIFI and refusing to reconnect

Wow, just when I thought it was impossible I actually fond some settings that worked. I'm not sure which of them that enabled the connection.

Changes I made:

Created dedicated vlan.

Assigned my iot wifi to the new vlan.

Manually assigned 2.4ghz bands to accesspoints

Changed power from "auto" to "medium"

The base was the following instructions, I already had some of them configured:

1. Create a Dedicated IoT Network (VLAN)

Go to:

Settings → Networks → Add New Network

Configure:

Name: IoTVLAN ID: e.g. 30Gateway/Subnet: choose your preferred subnet

This separates IoT devices from your main network.

2. Create a Dedicated IoT WiFi SSID

Go to:

Settings → WiFi → Add New WiFi Network

Configure:

SSID Name: e.g. IoT-2.4GSecurity: WPA2-PSKNetwork: Select the IoT VLAN/network created aboveBands:Enable 2.4 GHz onlyDisable 5 GHz and 6 GHz

Many IoT devices do not support WPA3 or mixed WPA2/WPA3 modes.

3. Optimize IoT WiFi Settings

Under the IoT WiFi network → Advanced Settings

Recommended:

Disable Fast Roaming (802.11r)Disable BSS Transition (802.11v)Disable UAPSDDisable Multicast to UnicastDisable WPA3 / PMF transition mode if devices have issues

These settings improve compatibility with inexpensive IoT chipsets.

4. Optimize Access Point 2.4 GHz Radio Settings

Go to:

Devices → Select AP → Settings

Recommended:

Channel Width: HT20 (20 MHz)Transmit Power: Low or MediumUse non-overlapping channels:AP1 → Channel 1AP2 → Channel 6AP3 → Channel 11

Do NOT use overlapping channels on nearby APs.
