Z axis won't return home (up) after calibration test print.
Hi.
I just finished the wizard setup calibration but the printer won't return to what I assume would be "home" with the extruder at the top of the Z axis so I can access my print sheet. I can manually move it all the way up but that seems lika a hassle. Any thoughts?

Hm, maybe I was mistaken. I guess it's not supposed to reset to the top position? Just did the Prusa logo print and now my bed moved all the way to the front for easy access.

sometines the Minda goes faulty and reads '1' all of the time. this tells the controller that the Minda is going to crash into the heatbed, this causes the controller to back off, and as the Minda still says '1' it backs off again, all of the way tot he top...
I have had this on the mk2 which uses the same type of Pinda/Minda
It may be your problem,
In my case the problem was a broken wire. in the Pinda cable which had fractured due to repeated flexing,

That sounds like the print head would move all the way up? My initial problem was that it stayed close to the bed so I couldn't access the sheet. But maybe I'm misunderstanding what you said. It's my first time with a printer.

My mini never moves the Z axis up after a print. It just stops were it is, and the Y axis moves all the way to the front. Sounds like normal behavior to me. Hope it helps.
Edit: if necessary, you can check if your minda probe is working by looking at the red led ring on top of it. Use a metal tool near the plastic tip or move the z axis close to the bed and see if it triggers.

for information there is a failure mode where the red light flashes but the controller does not see the signal,
as your printer ages, the repeated flexing of your cable bundle as the print heat goes from side to side, can cause metal fatigue and stress fractures in the wires, if the output wire in the Minda cable breaks but the 5 volts and ground wires are still good, the Minda will still appear to work by the LED display, but the signal will not get back to the controller board

I opened GitHub for this asking they park the head higher, and I was not the first or the last one. It's a bit inconvenient when you need to manually move Z axis up in order to be able to take sheet off the bed to clean it.

mine does the same thing, I use Octoprint and have put in some gcode at the end of the print to raise it.
