Supports overlapping

I just sent a model to Prusaslicer and told it I wanted 4 copies of the model generating. I placed them quite close together in order to reduce the amount of time spent moving between models. I let it generate the supports and exported the G-Code.

When it started printing I noticed that on the first layer, a few millimetres of the supports were overlapping with one set printed on top of the other. This would have caused problems had I let it continue. I went back to Prusaslicer and yes I could see the supports were overlapping. Now I know about it I will watch out for it in future, but shouldn't Prusaslicer have combined the supports into one consolidated support? Or at least it should have flagged up the conflict and prevented me from exporting the G-Code?

RE: Supports overlapping

Did you use the 'arrange' function in PS?

No. I placed them manually. At the time I did this, the supports had not been generated. So I overlooked the fact that the supports are a little wider than the models.
