replacing Bowden PTFE tube - how long should the ends be from the brass olive?

I'm looking at this https://help.prusa3d.com/en/guide/how-to-replace-a-bowden-ptfe-tube-mini-mini_142572/

It says to push in the olive approximately 2 cm from the end. that seems very much farther from the end than the one that came assembled on my mini. Is there an exact amount of tube that should be sticking out from the olives on each side? thanks

As can be seen on link you gave, original length of PTFE bowden tube is 275mm. But a couple of mm more or less won't make a difference, as that's not some exact science.
As in manual, olive should be inserted "about" 2cm -because when tube will be fastened with brass nut, olive will slide to the right position.

How are you supposed to get the brass thing on the end of the tube?  Mine won't push in.  I even put it in the chuck of a drill to spin it while pushing on the tubing but it won't go.

D'oh - I just tried one of the spares supplied with the kit... of course these get "squished" down so they're single use....
