New Prusa Mini Plus and slicer issues

Hi all!

I just got a fresh and lovely prusa mini plus.
I assembled it, calibrated it, printed the whistle, very happy.

Now I wanted to print my own stuff so I installed prusa slicer, selected all default downloads for prusa mini plus, sliced and...
Got a "File error. Failed to open file." on the printer.

I fiddled a bit and saw that prusa slicer is saving binary gcode as default and I need latest firmware.
I downloaded latest, flashed, same error.

So I thought ok, I will fight this later, I will save as gcode for now and print.
So I disabled binary gcode, exported gcode and...
"File error. Failed to open file."

What am I doing wrong?

I am on latest prusa slicer and latest mini plus firmware.

Thanks 🙂

Short question - have you tried an other USB-stick? Give it a try.

Do you have theses errors on the computer or on the printer?

Best regards, Clemens

Hi there!

Errors are on the printer and yes, I tried a freshly formatted fat32 8gb drive: same error.

make sure that after you export and save file on the pendrive then safely remove it from the system (usually takes few seconds to flush data).
Then connect to the printer and ensure you select proper file (easy to select wrong file if they are named similiarly).

or connect printer over the cable to LAN and upload it remotely

What is your Firmware version?

Surely I disconnect the usb with attention and tried 3 different usb drives.

I managed somehow to downgrade to:
Firmware
4.4.1+4194

Bootloader
2.3.4

Buddy Board
1.0.8

And, after successful test and calibration, when I go to the print menu I cannot find any gcode file in the pendrive.

Current status is:

Firmware 5.1.2
Bootloader 2.3.4
Slicer 2.7.1

When I try to print a good gcode file provided from Prusa Tech support I get: "File error. Failed to open file."
Here's a video of the issue: https://we.tl/t-QcdITmkyhh

I also tried to downgrade firmare down to 4.4.0 but in older firmwares I cannot see gcode files.
I also tried formatting pendrive again using info in your website and use a different pendrive.

The printer prints correctly using prusalink's upload and print.

It's probably because you exported it as bgcode (Prusa Slicer does that by default since version 2.7.0) and it requires firmware 5.x.x, so 4.x.x will not see it at all.

Can you upload generated bgcode files that are causing failure to load?

RE:

Now any file is seen with error, after I formatted the pendrive.

I will share a file causing issues.

I also did the same file but in normal gcode, same issue.
