First time prints - is this normal?
Hi folks, I'm starting to learn how to print with my new Mini+. Enjoying the process so far, but I have a question about the first couple of layers of output.
The attached photos show some detail of the first layers that came out of a print today. As you can see, it's as if the first layer isn't being done correctly (???). I've experienced the same sort of thing with other prints.
Is this normal? Do I need to adjust anything? Is this just something that needs to be sanded?
Thanks in advance. Just wanting to be sure I'm doing this correctly!

Did you do a z calibration? Looks like no.
There is the built-in method that the instructions refer to and an alternate method that I prefer where you load up a cal-pattern just like an object you want to print and print it while doing a live-z-adjust.
I'll find the link...

Thank you! This was helpful. I thought I'd gotten the Z-axis adjustment correctly set up, but you were right -- it still needed fine-tuning.
