Deep Scratches, Zits on Prusa Mini Prints

Hi All,

Could someone help me diagnose the issue with some of these prints on my Prusa Mini?  I seem to have scratches even tho I’ve lowered the temperature.  In some cases it gets even worse.  Not sure why:

A: there a little dots on some parts of the outer layer

B: deep scratches on the outer layer, even tho I’ve left the temperature of the nozzle the same at around ~205 and 90 print speed.

C: reprinted the same cat but sometimes it has deep scratches or under-extrusion? Causing it to rip apart.

If anyone could help-thanks!

RE: Deep Scratches, Zits on Prusa Mini Prints

Sorry to hear about all of this,

First, the zits that you are seeing on the exterior of your print are spots where retractions have occurred. You can try messing with your retraction and wipe settings to make them as small as possible, or change the z seam settings in Prusa Slicer.

Secondly, those gashes in your blue model are severely under-extruded areas. I see that you're printing at 90mm/s. It may just be that the nozzle is simply unable to melt the filament at those speeds and temps. I would try slowing it down, or increasing the nozzle temp 5-10 degrees . Generally speaking, the faster you print, the more temp you need. This could also be the culprit behind the cat model printing poorly as well.

Hope this helps!
