Burnt Filament Being Extruded

So this is a somewhat recent problem that started occurring after switching to a different filament than what I had been using. I think I may have screwed something up by increasing the flow too much while trying to mess with settings which maybe messed something in the hotend up. Regardless, now I get these strings and spots of burnt filament that randomly come out of the extruder no matter what filament I am using. I've tried lowering the temperature to no avail. From what I can gather trying to look up this issue on google, I may need to take apart the hotend and clean the heat break/ptfe tube? I really am just looking for some advice or direction before I start messing with the hotend and potentially making the whole situation worse. I'm fairly comfortable disassembling things, but I ordered the pre-assembled Prusa Mini+ which means it'll be a learning experience taking it apart. The downside of not wanting to mess with putting it together I suppose...

Any advice or insight is greatly appreciated!

Please show us a picture of your nozzle/hotend assembly.

RE: Burnt Filament Being Extruded

I am currently in the middle of a large print so I can't get a good picture at the moment, but I think that the issue may have been resolved.

I took some advice from someone in another forum and switched the filament to some that I know is perfectly fine. I ran a couple of small prints which came out clean except for a spot or two then swapped back to the white filament and tried printing at a higher temperature. The first print using the white had 2-3 small spots where some still came out, but flawless otherwise. I believe that it may have just boiled down to the one brand/color of filament that I had been using before and I just didn't purge/print enough to get all the gunk out.

So, I'm not sure if running the white filament at a slightly higher temperature is what helped or if all the gunk finally worked itself out after a few prints. I'm hesitant to swap back to the brand/color that I was using before the issue started to find out. I may just chuck it.

In any case, thank you for taking the time to read and advise! I will follow up if the issue starts back up.
