brand of flexible filament tpu that work off the shelf with the mini

Hi everybody: just to make a notification here about two tpu flexiblefilaments brands that worked without changing the extruder to a direct drive as I first intended to do - it would be nice to give people a feedback on your experience sofar with tpu... to be continued by others!:

tpu from filamentum 95A

tpu from polymaker(more flexible than filamentum one-90A) but no issue-prints flawlessly...no issues so far!

My personnal tip/ set up:

glue with white glue uhu stick a piece of paper on the prusa sheet printbed. you will then print on paper= the nice thing==> it stick well to paper and when you try to separate from the bed--> the paper goes away with the part. I am printing pla like that as well.- but I add a coat white glue for wood on top of the paper... no problem. doing that helps to get your print on top.

then remove the paper that stick on the printed part using a brush. after having letting get wet for at least 10 min. the same to remove the paper from the bed

works for all my prints sofar... yes it is a step more but I do not have any failure anymore.

Hi There just to add a brand of tpu>

purefil tpu 53D change filament, worked for me with no problem sofar

to add settings> tpu needs ) no retractation and no hop lift.

only two issues sofar with this one high stringing rate in comparison to others. as this one is really flexible the filament was difficult to insert. I needed to force more than usual and retry 3 times before it works. but I did it. no problem for printing during 4 hours at least.

cheers, Froggy

Hi

Just tested Fillamentum Flexfill TPU 98A purchased from Prusa site (1st time printing TPU)

I installed profile provided by Prusa on PrusaSlicer and used standard parameters. I follow instructions provided by Prusa before loading filament (Nozzel cleaning, coldpull and loosen idler screw) and printed on texture plate without glue.

Result was very good and part is really flexible. You can see result there -> https://www.printables.com/model/161452-ring-for-ice-watch-band

Next print will be vise jaws protections

Hi JC, thank you for sharing your experience.

i did not make any cold pull and i had never a problem so far that justify the cold pull. Just make two purging instead of only one. I read that the more rigid the easier for the mini /or any bowden type extruder.

The texture sheet , i used the pei sheet but i changed for my solution with a sacrificial paper layer glued on top of it. Advantage soak the part with paper residues in water then brush away! It worked for me everytime. hot tpu stick well to paper, it works with abs too. But not as good. Pla not so good i need to add a coat of white glue stick on top then it works. But it helps for difficult parts sometimes. I like investigating alternative ways.

Best Regards and thx again for your contribution!

Hi there,

I tried a brand of pla soft very soft... and it turns out very bad: second time I have to dissassemble the bowden... such a pain!!! the filament was entangled into the gear. I first put the spool in the fridge to cool it down... worked well! but the problem keeps happening.. so an idea: putting a cooling fan directed on the spool

Hi there, I t works now by  loosen the idler screw at it maximum. the idler screw is found just below the inserting tube for the filament. use the suitable hexagonal tool. I was able to print for 3 hours without problem!until I try to unload the filament maybe...I will cut the filament at the output between the bowden and the hotzone of the extruder.
