Brand New Mini Plus. Prusa Assembled. Problems filament loading.

As the title suggests, on my brand new mini+, the extruder fails to load filament at least 50% of the time. Sometimes its' a matter of selecting the "retry" option, cutting a fresh end of the filament, and it will feed; other times its' disassembling the extruder cleaning the gears, and loading the filament while it is partially disassembled.  I am really baffled as to what is causing this issue.  It doesn't seem to be tied to a specific type of filament, although with one older roll of petg it didn't want to load it at all no matter what I tried.  The printer has worked great once the filament is loaded but I was printing some two color ID badge reel decorations and it was a huge pain every time I needed to change colors. If anybody has any suggestions I am all ears.

Thanks,

Stobal

You say it's brand new, so it's covered by warranty.  Start a chat session with Prusa support, it's either pilot error or a failure of materials or workmanship, Prusa support will help you figure it out and will send replacement parts if it's material or workmanship.

Cheers

Yeah I was hoping to get a better idea of what is happening by posting on the forum. I also waned to know if this was a common occurrence or if most people have a completely trouble free experience loading the filament on the mini.  I have a lot of experience with 3D printing, this mini is my third printer.  I also have a MK3s that I built from the kit, and a Creality printer for larger stuff. Especially with the Creality printer, I would be S*^# out of luck if I wasn't willing to lookin into things and tinker.  I will definitely contacting Prusa if it not something simple.  The thing is that once the filament is loaded it is working very well. I am genuinely impressed with the quality of this little guy.  The filament tip is getting chewed up instead of feeding into the gear assembly, so I suspect it has something to do with the alignment.

If you are truly crushing the filament take a look at the idler-screw-tension. General loading in the Mini can be a bit of a struggle sometimes. I always push the filament all the way in until it doesn't go any further and after calling the Filament Loading menu I wait until the "ramming" message is displayed (i think is called ramming) and gently push the filament until I feel the gears have captured it.

I am having a similar issue where on my first print after assembly, it will not load into the gears. I've taken it apart once, removed the jammed filament and still encounter the same issue.
