Link chamber lighting and RGB panel to Quiet Mode

Ahoj,

Volitelně by Tichý režim mohl podporovat automatickou aktivaci v definovaném časovém okně (např. 22:00–06:00).

S pozdravem,

Hi,

I would like to make a suggestion regarding lighting control on CORE One / CORE One+ printers.

Currently, adjusting the chamber lighting and RGB panel behavior for night operation requires manual changes. While this is functional, the common day-night transitions are unnecessarily multi-step.

I would like to suggest linking the lighting behavior to the existing Quiet Mode.

When Quiet Mode is active: – The RGB status bar would be completely disabled – The chamber lighting would be set to 0% when the door is closed and the printer is idle – Upon opening the door or interacting with the display, the chamber lighting would temporarily increase to a user-defined value (e.g. 80%) – After a defined timeout, the lighting would return to 0%

Optionally, Quiet Mode could support automatic activation within a defined time window (e.g. 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM).

This would not change the logic or behavior of the printer, it would just extend the lighting principles within an existing mode. The implementation should be firmware-based with no hardware modifications.

Thank you for considering this suggestion. Best regards,

But what about users who use Quiet Mode only to reduce acoustic noise, and still want the illumination and visual indicators? E.g. when the printer sits in a study where you work next to it, or when you don't want to annoy family members in the next room or neighbors in the next appartment?

I don't think it is desirable to automatically make "Quiet Mode" also a "Dark Mode".

You make a very valid point.

I agree that Quiet Mode should not automatically become a “Dark Mode” for users who rely on lighting and visual indicators while still wanting reduced acoustic noise.

Perhaps a simple solution would be to make the lighting behavior optional when Quiet Mode is active — for example, an additional toggle such as:

“Link lighting to Quiet Mode” (On/Off)

This would preserve flexibility for users who only want reduced noise, while allowing automatic night behavior for those who use the printer in environments like bedrooms.

That way, both use cases would be supported without changing the core philosophy of Quiet Mode.
