130mm Active Carbon Pads Filter Holder
Hey,
I've ordered the filtration system but the shipment moved from April to end of May in the meantime! That's too long so I printed a filter holder for 130mm active carbon pads. This way I can put in a filter if I print ASA and simply remove it if I print PLA. You don't have to unscrew anything it is a simple slide on.

The 130 x 130 x 10 mm active carbon filter pads are easy to use an inexpensive. I hope this helps someone who also waits for the filtration system.
Happy printing!

1) I have 120x120 filters. How much do I need to scale down to make them fit?
2) What about the fan settings? Do you have a setting for ASA/ABS? Prusa uses an external fan for this.
Thank you for sharing...

If you scale it down, the screw holes wont fit anymore. The frame you screw on the chassis has an inner dimension of 120x120mm. If you print some simple L brackets as spacers, it would still work I guess.
For ASA I set the max speed for the chamber fan to 16% (can't do lower). Once everything is heated up and the first layer is printed I set the chamber fan to 1%. I have a temperature of ~50°C in the chamber with this. In case it cools too much down, turn of the fan for a while.
Make sure to close the corners either with some tape or print: https://www.printables.com/model/1266139-prusa-core-one-magnetic-corner-plugs

Thank you, if inner 120*120 thats perfect...i try it, thank you

I was also thinking to do something like that, but i was wondering if the chamber fans have enough static pressure.
Do you feel anything moving through?
RE: 130mm Active Carbon Pads Filter Holder
Yep, works well. The temperature goes down a bit as soon as you let the fan spinning.

That carbon mesh has relatively large pores. Which is good regarding its limited effect on air flow -- but how effective is it in filtering out VOCs? Do you notice a significant difference in the smell?
(I have always felt that those solder/flux fume fans, which the carbon filters are mainly sold for, essentially provide the benefit of pulling the flux fumes away from the user, so one does not inhale the concentrated fumes directly. Not sure whether the carbon filter helps much in reducing the overall amount of emissions that goes into the room air?)

It reduces the smell by a lot but there is smell. The spores are larger, that's why I use two of them so it travels longer through it it.
You should get the HEPA filtration system from Prusa in the end, but this helps as a basic workaround till it is shipped.
