RE: Prusa Bear Mini Mk3s

Yes it does appear right after seams start for the next line.

I usually try aligned or rear to make things neater, But on either aligned or rear it puts a seam right down the thin side of that bit making it week for me.

If the first layer is good. everything for your settings should work fine. You shouldn´t need to change any retractions or something like that specially if you use Prusament on a Prusa.

Try painted seams so you can move away from that part if it make problems for you

RE: Prusa Bear Mini Mk3s

ok cool I will try that thanks 🙂 , but still kinda still bugs me as other people don';t have to do that for this part.

yeah first layers are great It's so annoying because other people have a great time with petg and mini and I feel kinda frustrated by it all lol

I can't send it back to prague / prusa either its not worth the cost and the long long time it would take, and they couldn't help me solve it on online chat 🙁

Here is a quick video showing how other bits are nice and solid but this bit is soft.

Uploaded a thicker part for you. I don´t think that change your real problem but maybe if you build your MINI-Bear you can reprint things that wasn´t good.

Oh that part around the heatbrake! I thought you said it was the hook that was brittle?

That part is OEM. Have not change anything with that.

I deleted the last one and uploaded a new one. That cover is 0,8mm thicker downwards. But check so that is not to close to the heatblock ok.

RE:

This is a mirrored Mk3 extruder. You mean the Hurricane? Yes that one is optimized for the MINI-Bear 🙂 Especially if you use the new fan shroud and use 40x20 Noctua on both. So quiet. But I have not had time to fix 5V hotend power supply. I'm still using a power supply from a cell phone. Works great but it is better if it follows the printer on / off.

Recently I made a laptop mount for VESA and put 3 Noctua fans as cooling and I control it with a fan controller from Noctua. I'm thinking of testing and operating the fan with one and just taking the fan control from the Buddyboard.  NA-FC1 (noctua.at)

Can upload the laptop mount if any interest.

RE: Prusa Bear Mini Mk3s

wowo you really do some awesome work tomson, Yes sorry I did mean the hurricane 🙂

At first I will just get up and running with a stock mirrored mk3 direct drive on the mini bear so I can keep things as simple as possible, then after a while I will certainly upgrade the hotend and no doubt it will be to whatever project you are currently working on 😀

maybe some kind of new E3d unit or whatever is out then, i see their new ranges like revo etc are meant to be drop in replacements for v6 setups 🙂

Yes i looked at REVO but i let it be on the market for now and see the reviews on it first. But i looked at Phaetus Dragon little. I like the design. https://blackfrog.pl/phaetus-dragon-175-mm-standard-flow-hot-end-p-1992.html

Oh man that phaetus dragin is one sexy bit of kit, it's such a shame to hide it away covered in plastic and fans 🤣

I thought I'd have a quick look on youtube at mk3 extruder assembly videos and..

Check this out @tomson just the bit we have been talking about being thin and flimsy!!, 1min 15seconds

would this part work for me then or would it need mirroring?

RE: Prusa Bear Mini Mk3s

ooooh yeah, seems like a few changes to the Extruder now as per https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/57217-i3-mk3s-printable-parts/files

the extruder cover looks much better and sturdy also so does the fan shroud, so i can just mirror these parts and use them or?
