Nozzle 0.6mm ?

Does anyone have .6mm mounted and successfully printing with the mini?

I'm looking to order a mini for prototyping petg/asa with .5/.6mm hardend nozzle to allow for carbon filament later so speed is one factor.
Will be construction and functioning parts, not models as priority. Would like aroundish .4mm layers for good and strong bonding.

(I'm acutyally torn between mini and upgrading my Nereus with Hemera and new controllerboard).

Mini takes regular E3D nozzles which are available in a wide variety. See no issues to swap the nozzle to any size.

That's excellent.
I know it's still in the pre-orders shipping, but i wonder what the volumetrics of the heater and extruder would be able to perform.

Can't find much of youtube yet, but i guess waiting is a good game as well 🙂

I think you can assume similar to E3Dv6, 24V heater.

Maybe if someone who has a Mini can measure the size of the heater block and compare to the MK2/Mk3.

Yes, I'm using and E3D .6mm with the Mini.  Prusa even includes a Printer Profile for the 0.6mm in PrusaSlicer (also 0.4 and 0.25) so it's super easy to transition.

That's fantastic. Thank you.

What kind of speeds do you usually get with decent quality on the .6?

And which filaments are you using?

@prus-38

I'm seeing around a 40% faster print time going from .4mm with .2 mm layers to .6 /.3mm. You can play around with the profiles in Prusa Slicer to get the idea.

If you're trying to print anything thin though there is a point where the slicer will just not print. Like I had something with cursive text and it just skipped the thin lines between letters.

Mainly using Prusament. If they have the color you want I don't see why anyone would use anything else just to save a couple bucks, but that's another soap box. 😆

I just checked shipping (had't before) 5 rolls work out around 17e DPD so not all that bad.

For my current printers i have had great success with PLA from the local store for 20e/kg and they have petg for 25e/kg (not tried yet).

Cus of that i'm mainly interested in the PETG/ASA for functionly mostly outdoor/construction prints. And the mini would be suitable for my needs.

I saw on youtube one had printer in enclosure with the electronics on outside the box. Might try that.
