RE: Filament storage Cabinet

Okay looking for some input. I have a filament storage cabinet I made with a gun safe heater and 2 Eva-dry small and large. I added fans to them and I can keep the humidity down to 21%. Once a week I pull out the Eva-dry’s and recharge them.

I was thinking to add the heater element from my dehydrator to raise the temp to 110F. It would now be a dehydrating storage cabinet.

Do you think this will damage my filament if stored for a month at this temp and low humidity ?

Generally a good idea.

Too much and too long drying times are certainly not optimal for the filament (could become brittle). I generally only dry Nylon, PEEK and PC shortly before use. After use they are vacuumed again with a silica bag.

Statt zu klagen, dass wir nicht alles haben, was wir wollen, sollten wir lieber dankbar sein, dass wir nicht alles bekommen, was wir verdienen.
