Powering LEDs off the MK4 power supply

I'd like to add some LEDs to the enclosure that I've just completed. Does anyone know how much current headroom is left on the MK4's 24V power supply? Typically (for something like PLA) or at its maximum, when printing something much hotter?

There should be plenty of headroom for LEDs. I've been using two 24V led strips on my 2 MK3s for a while, and now the same with my MK4 with no problem.

Tap directly off of the power supply or the "POWER IN" on the buddy board. Avoid tapping from the "HEATBED IN". The heat bed draws a lot of current, and there is a voltage drop across the wires supplying it, which will cause your LEDs to flicker if you power them from those terminals.

I’m interested in doing something like this. Where did you place the LEDs and how did you mount them?

I used the two light versions of these:

They are really great models. My only complaint is that on the MK4, the rear light bar is closer to the frame than I'd like, making it more difficult to carry the printer by the top of the frame and preventing the use of alternate spool holders that take up more space.

I make this one for my MK4 and plug a 24V led strip directly on the PSU without any problem.

RE:

This is how I’ve done it:

https://www.printables.com/model/485262-led-light-bar-for-prusa-enclosure

So I’m running the 12v LEDs & 5v power to a raspberry pi, and the PSU is fine.

This is how I did it prior to upgrading to Mk4 / Prusa Enclosure:

RE:

I did it a little different because I don't like anything sticking out of the front of my printer. If I need some light directly on the nozzle then I have an extra strong LED next to the camera controlled by software. I used 24V LED strip and a 16x9.3mm aluminium profile to get rid of heat, a plastic profile is generally a bad idea because a bright LEDs get a bit hot after some time. BTW, the whole thing requires a minimum of plastic, it is powered directly from the printer, fits mk3s/+ and mk4 frame, also fits with mmu2s unit. Here are the files you can use: https://www.printables.com/pl/model/619904-mk3s-mk4-led-light/files

I actually solved the problem with an almost metal-free solution: https://www.printables.com/model/619620-magnetic-modular-led-strip-for-the-prusa-enclosure

I had the lights running for 20 hours straight since yesterday, and they did not become warm at all. At least with the type of strip I used, there really are no thermal problems, I'd dare to say.

does anyone know if there are auxiliary contacts on the MK4? there are a number of adds ones, like LEDs, that I want to install, and have them power up when the printer goes active using prusa link remotely.  With a set of contacts, I can do what ever I want with relays, PS, and external equipment.
