Lack Enclosure Question

I would assume that the MK4 will fit within the lack either v1 or 2, however those who already have it, does it use the same heated bed connection? Will I be able to use the 60Degree that I just printed?

It just fits in my 3D Sorcerer enclosure. There will be plenty of room once I get a suitable cable extender that I'm told is in the works.

What is the size of your enclosure?

The bed is identical to the MK3 for all intents and purposes.

Awesome thank you I'll put this 60 degree cover aside.

RE: Lack Enclosure Question

I used the 60 degree cover on my MK3S+ just to be on the safe side. For some reason the system didn't accept my edits to the previous post. As is with the control panel inside of the enclosure and right up against the front inside surface the cable just touches the rear of the enclosure if the bed is pushed all of the way to the back a position that it will only rarely reach unless you are printing to the full limit of the build volume. As I mentioned above I plan on moving the control panel outside of the enclosure when a cable extension is available.

RE: Lack Enclosure Question

Note: In the above picture those are two Lack tables next to each other. The corner to corner dimensions are 552.5 mm x 552.5 mm (21.75" x 21.75"). The 3D Sorcerer enclosure sides are just about even with the edges of the Lack. Since the enclosure sides are 5 mm thick that would make the inside width and depth about 542.5 mm x 543.5mm (21.36" x 21.36").

FYI, the PSU mount/holder included in the original set of printable enclosure parts doesn't accommodate the PSU that ships with the MK4. See https://www.printables.com/model/467041-prusa-mk4-psu-mount-lower-bracket.

RE: Lack Enclosure Question - Angled Heat Bed Cover

I'm waiting for my MK4 kit and meanwhile printing the parts in ASA. Which angled heat bed cable cover did you use; was it an easy fit? Cheers!

RE: Lack Enclosure Question

I left it stock. With the printer pulled to the front with about 3mm/1/8" clearance for the bed and with the bed pushed all of the way to the back. the cable just brushes the rear of the enclosure. Given that I rarely print to the limits of the bed I think this is fine. When I had my MK3S+ in the enclosure I used the Prusa i3 MK3 60 degree heatbed cable cover.

RE: Lack Enclosure Question

Thanks for your reply, maybe I’m getting to far ahead of myself and should wait till I’ve built it and see if it fits, which from what you say it will. Thanks again for replying. Cheers.

RE:

Just made a post about this, but I think it got deleted. I think the 60 degree won't work either way, atleast in my assembled MK4, there is a cable that goes through the original cable cover, and another cable that is soldered to the bottom cover nut. Here are a few pictures.

Which 60 degree heat bed cover do you use? I will build a kit. And by the looks of it, it's easier to do right now. I think that there were no changes here to the MK3?

RE: Lack Enclosure Question

It seems the thermistor cable is threaded through the lower bed cover on the assembled MK4 so it's impossible to take this lower cover off, and, looking at the assembly instructions for the MK4 kit it also comes pre-assembled that way in the kit. Although in the kit it's obviously not connected to the Buddy board so modifications should be a lot easier.

My kit is arriving next week around 26th June, so I'll know more then.

RE: Lack Enclosure Question

To remove this cable you need to unplug it from the xBuddy, then unwrap it from the textile sleeve back to the heatbed, before feeding it back through the cable cover.

You can only remove it from the xBuddy end, since the other end is taped to the bottom of the heatbed.

RE: Lack Enclosure Question

I'm using Lack enclosure. Still work in progress because the kit arrived 3 days ago and I've barely mounted it.

I'm letting the display outside and when I'll have time I'll make a cover for the cables and a display mount.
