Beagle camera V2 and MK4

Hello

I previously connected the beagle camera V2 to  an ENDER 3 Pro , and it has worked Fine.

I recently receive the PRUSA MK4 ( still in 4.7.1) and try to connect the same beagle camera :  remote video is OK.

But The beagle camera does not fits with the  MK4 USB port ( the red light on beagle is off).

I join the beagle support, and do all their recommandations ( the last one is to change de USB cable), the issue is the same.

Does anybody encountered the same issue and solves it ?

Thanks for advance.

RE: Beagle camera V2 and MK4

I tried it today and now it works.

Did you update the firmware?

It was very strange. At the beginning it worked immediately, but then I changed the position of the camera and restarted it. Then I did not get the connection again.

I was not sure what to do do, so I disabled Prusa Link and WIFI on the mk4.

After several reboots of the printer and the camera it did connect again.

Now I did a test print, which worked, but the timelapse did not work.

I choose "clean" and the printer moved to the correct position at each layer, but the video-file has on several kbytes and I cannot open it.

So now I retry with the "Normal" timelapse setting.

And of course it´s similar to octoprint, the camera does not get any sensor information from the mk4-controller.

So the temperature curve stays at zero, and I´m sure the filament sensor will also not work.

The problem with mine was a dumb rookie mistake. I plugged into the wrong port on the MK4.

Of course they don't supply the cable to plug into the correct socket (USB-C).

I think all is working now but haven't been able to thoroughly test yet.

Ok.

I tried another test, but the Timelapse did not work again.

Just a file with a few kbyte. Don't know what's wrong.

I'm not sure what I'm missing but cannot get Prusa connect to see my Beagle v2 or the Beagle print App to find the Mk4 printer, not sure if I'm even using the correct port on the camera I've tried the usb on the rear of the camera to the usb c port on the printer and the side data port on the camera which is listed as mico usb but is a usb c connection to the printer usb c.

I've had a search but can't find a solution has anyone got the camera working on the Mk4? any help would be appreciated..

Got the Beagle app and web browser working cable mix up due to the fact I couldn't fine a 2 pin socket adapter for the power supply and used the data cable as the power supply. Still not sure if Prusa connect will see the camera or not, tomorrows problem..

I spoke with Prusa support who finally told me

"Thanks for the feedback, and at the moment the Beagle and Pronterface is not supported.
We are aware of the issues, and it is something we are working to address. I am sorry for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
Best regards / Mit freundlichen Grüßen—James DoughertyCustomer SupportPRUSA Research"

So, I use the beagle camera only to monitor the progress of the print. And I use Prusa via wifi to download the gcodes to the USB key.
it is the best I can do.

Reagards

"Not supported" in this case only means "we don't offer any help for that topic right now". The Beagle v2 works just fine with the MK4 if you connect it properly, i.e. to the USB C port.

Yep sure does.. had the correct port on the printer not so the camera, used the data port on the side and not the usb port on the back. It works fine via the Beagle web and app, easily set up if you read the instructions lol..

Hello, I update MK4 firmware to 5.0.0 for Input Shaper. Is it incompatible ?.

Camera works fine, when I connect the USB on C at the rear panel, beagle APP says USB connection error.

I'm really annoyed

Do you know what I missed?

I can understand your annoyance - but have you updated the Firmware on the camera? You need v1.2.2 for the Mk4 to work.

Really annoying: The Beagle Firmware 1.2.1 (that was on my device when I received it) does NOT support updates over the network, even though the menu item is present. You need to use an SD card to update to 1.2.2.

RE: Beagle camera V2 and MK4

Have you tried a different USB cable for connecting the printer? Some cheap charging cables don‘t have the data wires.

RE:

The prompt for error 2 is generally an abnormality in serial port information detection.

Please log in to the browser control page and check whether the serial port information of the current printer is displayed in "baudrate" in the "setting" column.

And Bbaudrateefore connecting the printer, you need to set the correct printer model in the app

P.S: I don't like the way to upload images

Apart from the fact that the Mk4 doesn't seem to report things like the temperatures to the Beagle (which is probably Prusa's fault, not yours), there is one thing with the cam that annoys the hell out of me: The fact that you seem to need an internet connection to use the Beagleprint app on iOS.

My setup is as follows: The printer, the Beagle and some other gadgets are all in their own VLAN which does not have internet access for reasons I don't really want to discuss. I can access that VLAN from my main LAN without any problems, i.e. I can go to the camera's web UI and do all the nice things there.

For monitoring print progress from the couch, I'd really like to use the Beagleprint app on my phone - and that app is also required for some settings (time zone - why the hell is that not in the web UI?), so it's not really optional.

The problem, though, is that the App only seems to connect to a cam that's either a) on the same network as the phone or b) connected to the internet. Neither is an option in my case, so I can't use the app at all.

In order to solve this, it should be possible to manually add a camera to the app by specifying the IP of the Beagle. All communication between the app and the camera should then be local. Sadly, there's only the "find camera on the LAN" function that can't function in my setup as the camera is in a different network segment.
