Add Temp and humidity sensor to mk4

Hi

Is it possible to add a 3rd party temp and humidity sensor via usb to the mk4 printer?

I'm pretty sure there isn't but I'm also wondering about the purpose?

...it wouldn't be too hard to power a module from the usb but like @fuchsr I'm wondering what you are trying to acheive..?

Cheerio,

I use a home made cabinate to heat the chamber as I print mostly with PC and ASA (98%) so I need to monitor the temperature & humidity.

I have uptill now used a Raspberry Pi to provide temp, humidity & camera + network control - I guess I still need to keep the Raspberry Pi going and just use Mk4 network as it allows

RE:

I just use a super-cheap mini fridge thermometer off Amazon for this purpose. Which of course won't do if you want remote monitoring.

For remote monitoring, one could couple a NodeMCU with a simple temp/humidity sensor and monitor it with Home Assistant.

Still, it would be a nice gadget if Prusa provided an upgrade Module the measurements of which would be integrated in PrusaLink. Not a necessary mod, but one I'd buy anyway. 😉

The printer itself may be the wrong place to monitor this, the microclimate it generates would obscure the actual environment values.
