Why is PrusaSlicer showing only part of the sliced part

Hi folks

I designed a part, which, when sliced in draft mode, only part of it is shown:

If I slice it in quality mode, it shows no issue:

I do not see any error messages. So what does the slicer want to tell me?

Figured it out.  I had to look at the pictures you posted again.  Your slice previews have External perimeters deselected.  Normally you would have the dark orange of external but your previews just have the yellow or normal internal perimeters (as well as infill etc).  With the quality profile that area has internal perimeters, with the draft profile there are only external perimeters on that part and as you have chosen not to show them it isn't displaying them.

Those settings are not persistent across restarts (yet) so when you tried at a later point the preview was again showing the external perimeters and everything looked 'normal'.

Without both project files its impossible to say.  There are just too many possibilities.
If you want then save both projects (File>Save Project As).  This will save a 3mf file which has the part plus a copy of all the settings in use.  Then ZIP them up and attach to a post here (assuming you have the minimum number of posts to attach things, I think its 5).  The forum only allows a very limited number of file types which is why they must be zipped.

Well that is embarrassing.

For some reason I can not reproduce the issue. It works now in both settings.

But generally: If i look at the screen shot, it looks like the "it" has stopped somewhere in the middle of the g-code (which is shown on the left of the screen).

At the same time parts of the model are shown which are printed later in the process. I am wondering now, if this is a bug in the software...

RE: Why is PrusaSlicer showing only part of the sliced part

Without a project all we can do is guess.  My guess though is that you accidentally switched from Arachne to Classic slicing.

Without the model/project to examine that part in that area looks like it has a thin wall.  If a wall is too thin, less than the extrusion width defined in your settings then the slicer can not fit a perimeter in there so it doesn't slice it.  Its missing in effect.  Now when using classic slicing option there is also a setting called Detect thin walls.  When enabled (its greyed out for Arachne) then it would to a certain extent hardcoded into the software still try and print them.  Often lead to many other undesirable effects though that setting so it was better left off.
Now Arachne slicing is supposed to dynamically adjust extrusion width for thicker/thinner parts of a model.  That's why Detect thin walls is not an option for Arachne.  Arachne will try and print thinner than extrusion widths parts as long as they fall into the Arachne parameters (which are adjustable by the user in settings).

So I think you either has one profile in Arachne and the other in classic, or you had both in classic and one had detect thin walls while the other did not.

If you designed the part what is the wall thickness in that area ?  For a 0.4mm nozzle the default extrusion width is 0.45.  I bet its borderline on the thickness.

Here is the project:

rinne3

And the minimum wall thickness is 1.25 mm and it is in the area where the fault occured.

But both Quality and Draft use Arachne. And even if I switch to Classic, the error doesn't come back. "Detect thin walls" also has no effect.

Ah... got it.

I must have clicked accidentally somewhere. Now I know what to look for.

Thanks a lot. That was really helpful!
