Weird support generation issue with PrusaSlicer

I am printing the frame.stl file from this model on Thingiverse and when I click add supports, it creates a ton of excess support material. Any idea why? Can anyone duplicate the issue?

Best Answer by JoanTabb:

Load the frame STL into Prusa Slicer,

Right click on the object to open the menu, and select the 'Fix through the NetFabb' Option
then reslice and you should get something like  this:-
