Warning: Bed temperatures for the used filaments differ significantly. For Multi-material prints it is recommended to set the Bed temperature by extruder ...

Error message- Warning: Bed temperatures for the used filaments differ significantly. For Multi-material prints it is recommended to set the Bed temperature by extruder and Wipe tower extruder.

I just got a Prusa XL 5 Extruder printer and have not even printed anything yet so please be patient with me.

The model I want to print is 4 colors- I did create 4 custom filament profiles by manually entering Nozzle temp & bed temp from off the spools or the custom profiles I created on my Bambu labs printers. I am trying to use a transparent "Bambu Labs support for PLA/PETG" in extruder 5 for support, infill, etc.

I keep getting the Bed Temperatures for the used filaments.... error message. I have gone into Print Settings --> Multiple Extruders --> Extruders and have changed settings to Extruder number 5 and 0 for Bed Temperature by extruder option. setting it at 5 I still got the errors.

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Thanks

I expect you already know, but for newbies reading this{

  The general advice for a new user and a new XL is to print a simple, single filament, part first with each extruder in turn.

  This way you test the printer's basic function up to five times and each head in isolation once.

  Pick a few useful spare parts or household objects and begin to benefit from the printer while you test.

}

And then proceed to two colours of similar filament (same bed and extrusion temperatures), next three and so on.

Once these are familiar move on to multimaterial; the warning you have encountered is expected as soon as different bed temperatures are defined.

The simple fix, presuming you have support requirements, is to print a sacrificial raft, one layer thick of support material; now only one bed temperature counts.

The next easiest is to temporarily change all the bed temperatures to the same value - usually the highest but if almost all of the first layer is a filament requiring a lower temperature then you may get away with choosing that 'though watch the first layer go down and be prepared to scrap and restart.

Setting by extruder is a quick way of picking the bed temperature but if it's not the first extruder used it needs to match the wipe tower (if used) extruder as it will also be the first layer of the wipe tower.

Cheerio,
