VASE MODE

Can anyone tell me how to fix the letter P in vase mode. The letter is used as a diffuser so the middle needs to be there or it's completely open. Will not work.

Bottom layers should work, top layers will not

You should be able to have bottom layers in vase mode. Top layers won't work with vase mode.

Save your current  3MF project file, zip it up, and attach it to a reply here so we can see your part & settings and give better recommendations.

By definition that cant be printed in vase mode.  You have an outer and an inner perimeter once it gets above the bottom layers.  It would have to print the outer (or inner perimeter) then jump to the other one.  Vase mode is a continuous printing process.  Not a technique that can be used on that shape.

RE: VASE MODE

Agree with @neophyl
As I understand vase mode a part with more then one perimeter can't be done straight away.

But, if it's just this sign, my guess is a back-lit sign, you're going to make, you can accomplish it by making it as two part and glue them together.
Outer part is made with 4 bottom layer and a little rabbet around the middle hole

Inner part is made with 0 bottom layer and 0,4mm lower

Fits perfectly 😀

If it is a backlit sign you may have to reduce the number of bottom layer, and adjust the design accordingly.
Maybe just 1 layer, and no rabbet in the hole 🤔

Exactly what I need. Can you please explain how I can do this? This letter P fits over a letter with LED’s.

You can always just print with a single wide perimeter

You can always print with a single wide perimeter ("pseudo vase mode"). This works best with a larger nozzle.

That is WAY easier then how I did it 🤣

Anyway, I attach my f3d-file if someone is interested.
Look at "Change Parameters", there are some explanations in there, also I named the bodies and sketches to something useful.
I know it is possible to do all of it in one sketch, but it was easier for me to explain if I use more than one.

Tips for diffusion panels

Back before the "glass" discussion devolved, there were several techniques being discussed for diffusion or "clear-ish" panes. You might want to look at that if you're looking for more consistent clear panels.
